Sith Orbital Defense Platforms image - Fear The Dark Side mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
The Galaxy has seen a time of peace during the Pellaeon–Gavrisom Treaty. However something long forgotten stirs in the underworld, and threatens the peace everyone has worked so hard to achieve. Will you fight with the New Republic who has been betrayed from within? Will you fight with the Imperial Remnant who has been duped into a war they did not want? Will you side with the Mandalorians, who feel that they must bring peace to a galaxy dominated by force users? Or will you side with a Dark force rising, taking forces from within major governments? The choice is yours commander.
Each faction has the ability to build orbital structures that either provide unique bonuses, allow for specialized construction options or defense. For the New Republic, Imperial Remnant and Mandalorian Clans they can build the Golan series for defense. The Sith however, do not have access to these platforms. Instead they can build 3 specialized defense platforms. These are the Defense platform (Basic defensive platform; strong weapons and shields with a small fighter complement.), the Interdiction Platform (Acts as a gravity well generator, sensor pod and missile jammer. Well armed, but not as heavily as the defense platform.), and finally the Hangar Defense Platform (Only basic weaponry, but is equipped with an absurd amount of hangars to launch from.). Overall the Sith don't have the general combat platforms the other factions have, but they have an advantage in that they only have to invest in 3 different platforms whereas the others need to invest in 5 different platforms and balance defense with their economy.
