I like to announce EVE: RTS (work name) It's a mod about EVE Online developed by myself, featuring ships and other objects directly from the original Game. Models and Textures were extracted using TriExporter. CCP confirmed that I can use their Artwork. (see end of summary)

Actually Sectors look like that:

A Marker Object somewhere on the map.
Every Second a white ring will flash around a Sector to let you know where it is.
a lightly coloured ring (actually a dustcloud at the moment with no real other sense) will mark the Sector area.

This map has a 500km Radius at the moment. I think this should be enought, while still playable. The distance between the Sectos on the screen should be around 350km. So it will take about 5 minutes for a slow ship to reach another Sector. A fast (2000m/s) ship will need half the time.

This should be the biggest mapsize wich will be used. I'll make some smaller ones in the future. But at first, i like to get all features working.

You could take a look at the really giant H*A*C*S maps. their size combined with the beckground makes it lag on my computer when I look at the background image (On the places on the background with images)

^^ lol jea i remember this ... but I want to make it actually playable ;-)

And AI should be able to be used. HW2 AI won't be able to handle maps like the ones used in H*A*C*S, because it can not use Hyperspace to move it's ships. The AI only jumps with battlecruisers and surrounding military ships. I never saw it use modified ships. It seems to be Hardcoded somehow.
