Sins of a Solar Empire is often described as a 4XRTS game, or a game that tried to merge the action and tactics packed gameplay of a Real time strategy game with the deep, complex, empire wide strategy of a 4X turn based game. It's up to debate whether Sins succeeded in this goal, but I think all can agree that of the 4Xs of "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate", Sins is much more focused on the exterminate than on the others. This mod seeks to give more depth to the other 3Xs of the game by adding additional game elements or refining the existing ones to reward players who give more strategic thought to the non-combat side of the game. Combat will still be the center point of the game, but players will find that the non-combat options available will be much more rewarding. Spying, exploring, sabotage, diplomacy, culture, and economic development have all been added or changed in innovative new ways. Regardless of what you think Sins is, this is the 4XRTS it should have been.

Between the core mod, the minimods and compatibility with Star Wars: Interregnum, E4X and Star Wars: Interregnum provide a wonderful enhancement to sins of a solar empire: rebellion that makes it my favorite mod for that game. I can either just enhance sins to varying degrees or also add new and interesting new races, tech and setting; this, along with regular updates, makes this very flexible mod among the very best available.

Like this Mod a lot. It makes the factions feel very different from oneanother, much more so than in the Vanilla. Game. Also, i like the "Expanded Research" Minimod. I always have it active.
I can only recommend this Mod for anyone that likes Soase even a bit.

The two things I really love about this mod are 1. it's complementary to the base game rather than completely overwriting it 2. the major changes the mod makes are all customizable. The creator allows the player to choose the type of play style they want rather than enforcing their vision for how the game should be onto the player. This is how a mod should be made. This also adds greater replayability to the game.

Play it. You'll say 10 too.
