All three of Charles Stuart's kingdoms are in rebellion. Presbyterian covenanters have thrown King Charles and his bishops out of Scotland, occupying northern England. Catholic confederates have retaken much of Ireland. Parliament has ejected the king from his capital, London, and is raising England's trained bands to defend its constitutional rights and the protestant reformation. Each set of rebels claims loyalty to his majesty while taking up arms against him. The king has raised his battle standard in Nottingham and moved his court to Oxford. Anxious to release royalist troops from garrison duty in Ireland, for use against Parliament, King Charles is negotiating with the Catholic confederates under a temporary truce, and considering the legitimisation of catholicism in Ireland.

Mod of stunning quality that knows that it wants to be.

Since its WFAS, it plays better than most other mods when it comes to the battles themselves.

The flaws are basically non existent, and those that are there are only there because its a work in progress.

Needs more recognition, an absolute juicy beast of a mod.

A heaven for every pike & shot enthusiast.

Without a doubt the best mod for WFaS out there. It doesn't play like an alpha version of a free mod, it plays like an official release with half a year of patches. Very stable, I haven't encountered any bugs so far.

The mod has good atmosphere and flavor, recreating the histroric set faithfully. It reuses scenes from the original WFaS, but also introduces new ones that look scratch made, but fit in perfectly. The items are all reworked and plausible for the setting. Balancing seems to be improved over vanilla WFaS; especially muskets are less accurate as it is historically correct and better balanced.

The mod introduces cannons, but I haven't progressed enough to use them yet. What I have seen so far is as polished as I would expect from a paid release and plays better than vanilla WFaS. It gets 9 points for that perfection, I only subtract one for the reuse of some vanilla scenes and models although I have to concede that their reuse makes sense given the similarities of the settings and is pulled off extremely well.

The best mod for WFaS I have ever played, it includes so many new features which WFaS lacked, the best one being cannons in battles. There are very few minor bugs which have no impact on the gameplay anyway. Finally we got a proper mod set in Western Europe.
All in all its a stunning, well made mod with more features to come. Dont believe me? Give it a shot, you wont regret!

Excellent mod!
For an alpha build its remarkably stable!
Very fun to play, its got a great setting and great aesthetic. Its also very simple in allot of its mechanics and design which is really refreshing as some M&B mods can be a bit over complicated.
It has a few bugs here and there, the most entertaining being giant frozen cats sitting in London at night, but so far I haven’t come across anything game breaking.

Why does every mod have to implement annoying things that makes you feel the game hates you? Before it was stumbling and falling if you walked backwards...
Now it's getting scabies every 5 minutes or your crew members starting a fire in every city you are in is just a waste of my time.

I want the game to punish me when I make a mistake, not having the game constantly throwing bad luck at me.

Excellent mod, probably the best ive played for this era, and the best for With Fire and Sword. Battles are great and epic, and the new features add a lot of flavour

The only drawback is that the mod seems to have died out, as of March 2021, but I would say its in a fairly complete state. The only additions I would add would be faction triggers and emergent factions to create the English Commonwealth with Cromwell as lord, and the new Royalists/Covenenter under King Charles II
