The workhorse of the fleet, the Pelta-class variants provide essential fleet support for the Republic (CW/GCW) and Rebel Alliance rosters!
Developed by Kuat Drive Yards in the Clone Wars, the Pelta name is synonymous with a wider family of ships and variants. While it gained notoriety with its ‘Hospital Ship Configuration’ (HSC) used by the Republic Medical Corps, modifications by the desperate Rebel Alliance would see it make the leap to a dedicated combat role in the form of the ‘Assault Ship Configuration’ (ASC) and ‘Command Cruiser’ variants. The Pelta’s sheer modularity ensures it stays in production across the galaxy, officially licensed or not.
In the submod, the Rebel Alliance gains the Pelta-class in its ‘Assault Ship Configuration’. Here, it loses its AOE Repair support but gains better Point Defense, improved Hull/Shields, additional engines and expanded weapon mounts. The “Power to Engines” ability better enables the Pelta ASC to chase down harassing fighters and rapidly reposition to counter missile wielding threats. Especially for the Shield heavy Rebels who are very missile vulnerable, this vessel is a godsend for survivability on your larger ships.
