Description

The Nighthawk-class Droid Fighter ushers in a new era of space dominance for the Separatist Holdouts roster!

The Nighthawk Interceptor is the result of a radical design philosophy shift from a typical model descending from the Vulture-class. With the rise of TIE Defenders and E-wings, the technological gap between advanced interceptors and mass-produced droids widened to the point where it’s no longer practical to achieve space dominance with numbers alone. Modern targeting computers and ordinance are simply too effective to overwhelm. Leaning into this new era, the Nighthawk is a true technological leap. Taking the best traits from its adversaries, the interceptor comes equipped with varied weapon mounts, a passive missile jammer, a Stygium Crystal powered Stealth Field generator and SLAM engines. While the Nighthawk is too expensive to be spammed, the investment is well worth it.

In the submod, the Nighthawk-class acts as the Tech 4 Separatist trump card against enemy fighters. The combination of an ion cannon turret and concussion missiles enables the interceptor to slow targets down to a crawl before it chews them up with a rapid laser barrage. It can struggle in a protracted dogfight due to a lack of armor, but its speed and stealth means it’ll rarely be on the backfoot. The AI especially loves to hunt down the (usually) tanky BTL-B Y-wing bombers with ease with it.
