Also visible here, several new fighter icons by RBP. Most of the units in the mod now have new icons. These icons are just the start, you'll notice many more in coming screenshots. All credit to RBP on Discord.

I dont think the maps are too dark, but maybe the light source is in the wrong place. Sometimes the ships are black, until you move the angle of the camera

Finally someone understands that it's just the angle of the sun and the shadowed side of ships! Someone actually understands how light works! We need more people with this level of common sense in the world!

Sometimes it's an gamedesign issue, for example:the Bestine from recent videos, it's skybox have very tiny source of light, and most of angles such as topdwn, the ships are not lighted as well as you can't see the bright backround þo contrast with them, even the planet reflects too little light. By other hand skirmish Shola is the perfect example of what is right:half of skybox(nebula) is bright and serves as source of light, so or ships are lighted on dark background, or you can see them been lighted by skybox on the black background.

you obviouslly dont understand how light in this game works. It has nothing to do with the background or some light sorce you can see. It's just some numbers you edit on the map editor where you want the invisible light source to come from, the elevation, all the fancy color options, the shadow color, the intensity of each thing, fog, bloom.

The background has nothing to do with the lighting. Hell the next version wont even have background Nebula and will only have the background stars.

go get the map editor and see for yourself.

I think you should just make a mini mod to replace the dark lighting in maps. The current lighting really shows off the shadows and ship lights and provides a great atmosphere.
