Rogue Squadron has been reworked, it now comes with 12 x-wings, 50 shields and 200 HP. The reason it's not 25 and 125 like the 181st is because they come with 18 interceptors.

Their combat bonus gives 25% shield strength and armor to allied fighters. The reason it's not also +25% damage and range like the 181st is that the Imperial TIEs don't have enough HP and shields to really benefit from that bonus, so they needed something extra, which was the 25% damage and weapon range.

These changes were made to make the Hero squadrons feel more prominent in combat, both as an on-map asset (buff stick) as well as in direct combat. They still have their limitations, but they're worth getting now.

Is their maneuverability any better than normal X-Wings? Best fighter squadron in the galaxy and all that.

God I miss the old Michael A. Stackpole X-Wing Rogue Squadron books so much.

Could you add the Wraith Squadron / Hawk-bats as a Rebellion unit too?

Wraith Squadron was commanded by Wedge Antilles, but was a separate unit made up of misfits, -etc.

"The Wraiths were designed to fulfill the mission responsibilities of both a traditional starfighter squadron and a commando unit—a revolutionary concept in tactics for the New Republic, and one that its founder felt was an essential development for the New Republic."

Wraith Squadron could be created as a unique unit, one which flies their ties in space yet also being able to deploy on land as commando units, each with different skills, much like how Han and Chewie fly the Falcon and yet are excellent land units.

Just a thought, but I haven't seen any mod yet that contains Wraith Squadron, which is rather a pity since they are described so well in X-Wing: Iron Fist.

Description

A couple of minor updates that're usually left to the discord updates channel:

All starfighters with astromech droids (V-wing, Arc-170, X-wing, Y-wing) now have a passive auto repair ability that very slowly repairs the unit for 1 hp every 2 seconds. This is far too slow to be of any use in combat, unlike shields, that are a active barrier, fully refreshing in only 15 seconds (so very useful during combat as it recharges fast enough to be an actively recharging barrier) the auto repair the hull for the Arc-170 for example would take 60 seconds to fully repair the starfighters hull. So it's not a useful in-combat ability, but it is a nice feature to have outside of combat, making these starfighters just that little bit more sturdy and well-rounded.

Concussion missiles now have a max number of targets they can hit with splash damage to prevent them from wiping out large groups of starfighters in single missiles, starting from 4 targets for normal missiles to 8 for super heavy missiles.

Concussion missiles now have a 30% damage scalar against hero starfighters like the 181st and the Millennium Falcon, so they no longer obliterate here fighters/hero fighter squadrons.
