Darkfire alpha

Hello everyone!

The mod is in its final stages of development. I am currently waiting for voice actors to hand in their recordings and implementing various bonuses in the meantime. When the voices are implemented we will run a few final tests to make sure the mod can go live without any hiccups.

The mod should be finished sometime in April. I have put up a release date in the mod description, but it is approximate; the release might come later or even earlier than that. I might update it again to a more accurate date when we begin last tests.

Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from you in the comments!

PS. The mod will have some references to its predecessor, so if you haven't played it already, you might want to check it out:

Once again, another mod ruined by terrible frame rate issues. It's especially bad when the custom creatures appear. After exiting the library, the frame rate took a dive into the 30s for me. Using an RTX2080 and i9 processor.

Hey, great mod so far, but I have run into a problem. Every time I attempt to use the keypad outside the Library the game crashes. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

Luckily I know how to use the mapping tools but the goo/slime is not there for me in the library cellar so I'm stuck down there. Is the slime important further into the story?

Also can't find anything in the script that might trigger the slime.

TimProzz it is handled by pure engine mechanics - it just appears after a specified insanity threshold. Perhaps you changed some config and it screwed it up, I haven't seen this issue before.

For people having issues starting game...Add Eldritch_Cove/config/main_init.cfg to launch options. Then start Amnesia normal way. This seemed to solve my issue with starting game from .bat file.

Well done mod btw,,thanks for your work Darkfires.

Beautiful mod with a gloomy Silent Hill style atmosphere. It's a pity that there are few modes in this style.

The installation instructions are very confusing - are we meant to overwrite the original Amnesia files using everything found in the Eldritch Cove folder, or simply have the Eldritch Cove folder within the primary Amnesia folder? I tried doing the first and the .bat file is doing absolutely nothing, attempting to launch Amnesia.exe or the nosteam version just says "Failed to load config file!"

CrackSmokingWarlock The instructions clearly say that you must have the mod folder in the primary Amnesia folder.

They are as detailed and simple as possible, so if dragging and dropping a folder is too complicated for you, I'm sorry but there's nothing more that I can do.

This was a great mod. It was very original and creative and you could tell a lot of time and energy was put into it. The puzzles were interesting and new and I was absolutely thrilled with the new monsters. By far the creepiest Amnesia mod I have ever played. The only reason I didn't give a full 10 is that I had to load the apartment section multiple times because it kept bugging out on me. Other than that, phenomenal game. (Wish it was a little longer, but if this really was only episode 1, then…
