Nice^^

I want to ask something : " Angmar doesn't have any shield holder units or heroes ? " thank you

Angmar will get Gundabad heavily armed orcs ( recruit from building or from a fortress ) and outpost fortress too ? Because already the birth place of Gundabad orcs are from the Angmar itself, thank you.

I think Durmarth (or however he's called) has a shield.

It'll get Mt. Gram orcs through spellbook, as it is presented in this article: Moddb.com

A very unique outpost which I frickin love is also presented the article :)

Very nice model and skin.
He looks nice. :)
I don't know anything about him as character or his abilities, but in my opinion if he is using dark magic etc, maybe his face should be more "unholy"? xD

Good work!

Very dark and gothic yet authoritative and never Orcs-like or 'wild'.
I personally sense a heavy medieval resemblance in it, in my opinion.

Well, it's definitely great and accurate if the aim is to represent the 'particular' dark characteristic of Angmar, if we compare it to the other evil factions ;)

As all Angmar heroes (beside of the witchking)) he's made up. In the original game EA Games used a nazgul-like character, which looked compeltely different than anything we've heard about them from tolkien. Therefore we've changed him to a normal human being.
Now he's similar to Lurtz or Tauriel: A character, wich could have lived in tolkien's world, but did not have a name in his books. :)

I always thought that the original Angmar Hero Morgomir was a Nazgul. Khamul was second only to The Witch King, and Morgomir was supposedly The Witch King's lieutenant, and the Third most powerful of the Nazgul. I guess that was wrong?

Morgomir was an invention or EA Games. They intented this name. But you're correct: He was supposed to be a Nazgul... But Tolkien never wrote anything about additional Nazgul in Angmar and by that time he should also have looked like a normal Nazgul, how we've seen them in the movies. Therefore his design was completely wrong and unfitting for a Nazgul. Additionally his name was invented, like our heroes.^^
As everyone always thought that "Morgomir" is a Nazgul, weve renamed him and changed him completely, as a new name/design just made everyone still think that he's a Nazgul and complained that he was too human like for a Nazgul. :P
So we've more or less deleted Morgomir now completely and added Mornamarth instead, who (at least we think that) fits much better into the lore. :)

I knew EA invented Morgomir. Your explanation makes sense.
I think that if you added Morgomir as a proper Nazgul to Angmar it would work well though.
(Which really you already have for Mordor. The Dark Marshal fits Morgomir.)

The witch king was supposed to be still human at the time when the rules of Agmar.
Isn't it?

Yeah, a human at least 1300 years old. That's too much even for a Númenorean WITH a magic ring proloning his life. Also, it's even said the RINGWRAIGHTS have appeared some short time before Witch King had came to Angmar.

No, the witchking wasn't supposed to be still human back then.
He was a human in the second (!) age, but Angmar attacked arthedain at around the year 2000 of the third age. So the answer is clearly:
NO. He wasn't a human at that time, he was prrobably older than 3000 years.^^

I know it's probably a little late to point this out, but Morgomir's appearance was based on the Nazgul's "Twilight" form in the movies. After the fall of Angmar and his defeat by Glorfindel, he was left depowered and lost all knowledge he had gained during the war with Arnor, therefore making him only as strong as the rest of the nine were, minus Khamul.
I'd also like to say that despite not existing in Tolkien's Lore or Jackson's Movie's, I kinda appreciate how EA gave us an opportunity to explore the backstory on one of the other Nazgul, even if it's technically Non-Canon.

One more masterpiece of Edain! Now my favourite part is the text written in Tengwar on his cape, which shows the orientation on minutiae Edain always has :)

Question for ET: Does his name have a meaning (since "mor" means black in Black Speech)?

It can mean "Black Doom" or "Dark Fate" (amarth: fate, doom).

It is Tengwar Noldor actually, probably used because of it shape for this faction, but from lore view I think Noldorian Tengwar shouldn't used for evil factions.
But currently there is probably no other more similar style from Tolkien world.
I am also curious about meaning.

These are the runes, EA used for angmar, it's a mutation of the tengwar runes, but not as soft and gentle, instead having more edges.

By the way noldorin Tengwar was used for the most evil item in Middle-Earth the One Ring.

Reply Good karma+2 votes
CragLord
CragLord - - 304 comments

You are wrong about that, Tengwar Annatar is used for One Ring.
It has clever style, and it is offical font of Annatar, Lord of Gifts.
Beside that one we have Tengwar Sindarin, Tengwar Quenia and Tengwar Noldor or Noldorin.
Noldorin Tengwar is as you have describe it rough, with more edges. Noldorin Tengwar was also source from which dwarves made their Cirith.

Actually, Cirth Runes were made by the Sindar of Belerieand, the Dwarves only liked using them.

Yes, you have right, I was think about origin of Cirith runes in some way. xD
Noldorin Tengwar (which is like all other versions of Tengwar (except Annatar font)is made by Feanor) is remaked in Doriath by Daeron who was the loremaster and minstrel of King Thingol of Doriath in first age. So basic Cirith is made by elf and later it constantly evolved by dwarven hand (Angerthas of Moria and Cirith of Erebor are similar but different letters). Dwarves like them (Noldorin style) mostly because it was easy to emboss them in stone because of their rough shape.
Yes, this was interesting conversation about fonts and letters of Tolkien World. :)

I love how the team is yet again making this faction unique, True they are evil but are not just a mindless rabble or mordor orcs, a pack of mad goblins or blood thirsty uruk hai, these guys are disciplined warriors, who know when to retreat, how to form complex formations and build imposing castles, CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY AS ANGMAR!
