Both and neither. Both because Balin is in the picture, but we always knew he was Santa :) Neither cause I wanted some "Christmas-y" feeling for December (and Angmar).

He is also one of my favourite Tolkien's characters.

I'm not so sure about christmas feeling has something to do with Angmar XD oh, you mean that Santa is actualy a mass muderer and a brutal ruler of a northern kingdom, don't you?

Hey, I'm a guy who's Christmas tradition is to watch Happy Tree Friends! And if you don't know what that is... don't look it up cause it may destroy your psyche. And by destroy I mean the following: annihilate, wreck, exterminate, obliterate, wipe out and than abrade it in the depths of the incessant insanity... what? Who said that?... I certainly did not... *walks away with innocent facial expression*
