Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG) is a mod for the game "Men of War" and some of its successors that randomly generates skirmish missions and lets you keep your surviving forces from one battle to another. Some people find this mod tricky to install the first time - please read the readme.txt carefully and ask for help (if you need it) on our forums here on this site, or at the game developer's site.

I have a perfect setup but when I click on campaign.exe it doesn't work.

I followed all the steps, installed all the sub-programs, and I can't play...please help me.

If it still doesnt work, you simply have missed something, because if you do it correctly, DCG will work.

Did you

A) really install the three (3) necessary subprograms?

B) download the correct version, ie either the vanilla MoW or the AS2 version?

If you want me to help you better, you need to describe what happens. Simply saying that it doesnt work, doesn´t help me at all. What does the error say (take a screenshot and upload it, then post the link to it in this thread).

Also please post the log.txt file (can be found in the main campaign folder).

Yes, I installed the 3 subprograms, and yes I have the correct version, Vanilla MoW. I have MoW last patch too, 1.17.5.1

Ok, my problem is that when i try to start campaign.exe I recive an error saying: "campaign.exe has stopped working"

I don't have any log.txt because I wasn't able to start the program yet.

Thx, if you need more information please, answer me.

Your problem could be due to the fact that your Windows 7 .net files arent updated to their latest versions. I know that I had to re-install the .net files when I moved from Windows Vista to Windows 7 to get DCG to work (I´m on Windows 10 these days).

Ok, I will try it!

Thanks a lot! :D

Edit: I tried it, and I have the same error again.

Before we continue, read thru this installation tutorial and make sure that you´ve installed everything correctly. If you do it exactly as the tutorial tell you do to, DCG _should_ work.

Yes I'm totally sure that I've done all, and installed all, but I can't play the mod. I have always the same error: "campaign.exe has stopped working"

I don't know what can I do to play this mod, because all is installated correctly.

If you have another sugestion I'll try it.

As far as I know, the three things that gives this kind of error, is missing one of thr subfiles (xna, net and/or visual #J). I am at work now so I cant check any files for the moment but I will give it a closer look when I get home this evening. There is a log file that gives hints to what is causing the error but I do not remember for the moment where the campaign.exe store it.

Where do you have the campaign folder located? It should be located in "Men of War/mods" and nowhere else. And the campaign.exe must be started from this folder (ie. you cant copy-paste the icon to your desktop, but you can make a shortcut to it, by right-clicking on the campaign.exe icon and then use "Send to (Create shortcut)".

The above is the only thing I can come up to why your campaign.exe gives you the error "campaign stopped working", except for missing files. Hopes this helps you.
