GENERAL QUESTIONS

1 - SO WHAT IS THIS MOD? WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THIS MOD?

To sum it up quickly; the mod aims to have a close resemblance to Vanilla Dawn of War GOTY edition (that is, previous to any of its expansion packs, beginning from Winter Assault) with the addition of hardcounters, Its main goal is to provide a fair game oriented towards the Player versus Player experience.

2 - IS THERE ANY PLACE TO MEET PLAYERS? I FORGOT WHY EVEN I AM HERE

Yes, here - Discordapp.com

3 - WILL THIS MOD HAVE A CAMPAIGN MODE?

As stated in the general description, this mod is clearly focused on the Player versus Player games. We do not have the time or the patience necessary to make it compatible with the campaign. So it is unlikely you will ever see the single player experience expanded.

4 - I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE UNITS, WILL YOU ADD THEM?

We do not fill a race with over nine thousand units/and or add weapons for certain units and randomly put them a role to see how it rolls out. We think firstly on the gameplay and playstyle of the certain race. After that, we look through all the units and play ad infinitum to see which roles might fit in, what abilties might come in handy, etc...The purpouse of this mod overall is to bring an experience which tastes like DoW Game of the Year Edition, only flavoured with those additions that, through expansions were not in the Multiplayer aspect. As of the latest new releases (from 3.69.X onwards), there has been a few units that have been -tightly- included. However, the likehood of including more in future releases is very unlikely.

5 - ARE YOU GOING TO ADD MORE RACES?

Probably we will add more. In our experience, however, the more races you add, the likehood of more issues you find in the other existing armies grows exponentiallys; we do not want the nine original races suffer from unexpected bugs or balance issues and heavilly affect to the user in a negative way. Suffice to say, we will stick up to 10 for the time being. If there is enough fan request, then maybe the number could go up to a maximum of 12 playable races. More than those, and it would be overkill, so it is unlikely to go beyond that point.

6 - ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE THE WINTER ASSAULT AND/OR DARK CRUSADE VERSIONS OF THE MOD?

NO. We have finished working on both expansions. We believe these versions are on its highest peak; also, SoulStorm offers us more content and more possibilities code-wise. So no, there are no plans (and there won't be in the future) nor reasons about updating these two expansions with newer releases.

7 - ARE YOU GOING TO REINTRODUCE THE FLYING UNITS?

NO. The team has been trying them out and by a large consensus, has decided to ditch them out for many reasons:

1- In late-game they were gamebreaking any of the most balanced match-ups such as Eldar vs Space Marines and Tau vs Chaos. This lead to a lot of discussion.
2 - They do not work properly path-wise. Their movement is sloppy and does not even help the player to get them.
3- Their role most of the time was just overtaking other units who were pretty decent in their respective roles, thing which lead to a feeling of redundance.

8 - HEY, TYRANIDS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!?

Tyranids suffered a lot of problems: From fx not correctly applied or completly missaligned with certain weapon hardpoints, the total absence of the Tyranid "banner", which they used as the Ork one, to the general gameplay fo the army, which did not feel neither fresh or interesting whatsoever. There might be a chance for them to come back someday, but for now it is better to remain with 10 armies and fix whatever issues there are in the meantime.

9 - IS THERE ANY LIST OF MAPS WHERE THE MOD COULD BE A BIT MORE ENJOYABLE?

10 - DO YOU ACCEPT DONATIONS? I WANNA DONATE!

NO. The mod developers do not accept donations. We value a thousand times people who are more collaborative by being active and play with each other (specially the Discord channel) by posting replays than people who want more progress for the sake of it by sending money and barely doing anything. This mod is done by free in our free time; nothing more, nothing less. If someone claims they are part of the team and accept donations, do not trust them - chances are they will scam you.

KNOWN ISSUES AND HOW TO FIX THEM BY PLAYER INPUT

1 - WHEN I PLAY WITH NECRON WARRIORS THEY ATTEMPT TO GO ON MELEE? WTF DO I DO!?

When necron infantry are killed in melee and ressurect, there is a chance the squad will think it is still in melee with that unit, causing it to ignore orders like ranged stance, hold ground, etc... and try to melee the attacking unit if it is on screen. This is an engine bug and cannot be fixed. However if you kill the attacking unit, or garrison the unit in question (Flayed Ones in monolith or Necron Warriors/Inmortals/Wraiths in Summoning Core) the bug will be gone when they pop back.

2 - WHEN I PLAY NECRONS I CAN DUPLICATE A MONOLITH!? WTF FIX IT

Sometimes the Necron Monolith will not dissapear when its Restored upgrade is completed, which gives you an extra Monolith. This is related to the Monolith build animation, it is possible that it is fixable but no one has figured out how yet.

3 - WHEN I INSTALL THE MOD I AM UNABLE TO CREATE A PROFILE! WTF DO I DO!?

When installing DoWPro (or any mod), you must have already created a profile in Soulstorm. Not doing it will prevent you to create one ingame unless you remove the Profile1 folder which is located in the Profiles folder.
