D3EE is a set of quality of life improvements to the original Doom 3 game and it's expansions Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission, aiming to enhance the experience of the game without deviating from the source material. Looking to play through vanilla Doom 3 and other custom levels but don't want to mess with the core and spirit of the game? Not a fan of BFG Edition? this might just be your lucky day. You can try Enhanced Edition instead.

Yeah they did the same thing to the shotgun in the UltimateHD mod for BFG Edition.
A very welcome addition.
If you haven't checked out that mod, I highly recommend it.
It really speeds up and modernises the gameplay, making it age a lot better,
but without adding ADS or any modern military mechanics.
I can't play the game any other way now.
