There are some code changes from Github.com that, if tweaked a bit, negate the need to use ReShade. This would allow Linux and OSX users to enjoy some nice HDR/Tonemapping/Flare effects. I was wondering if you'd mind looking into this. I can write some shader-related code in a pinch, if you'd like some help. :3 Regards, ~SteamFox |

Indeed! The reason for not using parallax is actually understandable. Parallax messes with non-interaction shaders... this either breaks certain things outright, or by trying to work around them causes massive overhead. The new approach will also allow for more detail and realism without the need for more geometry. Lumped in with all this is another plus: better, more realistic specular highlighting... so metal will look like metal and not vacuform plastic. |
