After completion of the SOL Knossos gate the GTVA sends a small recon fleet to investigate. Upon exiting subspace they realize nothing is familiar. With no way to return they begin to colonize. The native factions, TEC, Advent and Vasari take notice of the intrusion and some believe they should be removed. The GTVA was not prepared for this eventuality and sent older Great War era vessels, and in order to survive they must scramble to construct the more advanced vessels from home. However a old foe may be lurking in the shadows.

The GTVA Colossus is the largest ship ever constructed by the GTVA. It was designed to fend off any Shivan assaults similar to that of the Great War. With its completion, the GTVA arrogantly believed that the Colossus could defeat almost any threat. At 25 m/s, it is faster than any ship larger than a cruiser, with one notable exception (SJ Sathanas matches it) and its massive hull allows it to endure most assaults.

For offense, the Colossus is covered with weapons and carries 240 fighters and bombers (which we never see launch). In its default state, the titan is armed with 6 large anti-warship direct beams and 7 large slash beams. For mid to close range, it carries 18 blob turrets, 10 anti-fighter beams, 12 flak guns, and 10 anti-fighter missile launchers.

However, the numbers above don't highlight its faults. It's anti-warship weapons are all destroyer-grade and scattered across the hull. This gives it excellent coverage, but means it simply can't focus all those beams on one target. The duel against the Shivan Sathanas has it overcharge its beams to cause enough damage. It takes significant time to repair the weapons, even if the Sathanas never lands a hit. We also don't know what effect (if any) the beams would have on the SD Lucifer, which had its own unique shielding system and was invincible until they disabled.
