About the mod
This game modification adds an immersive travel system to the zone. It allows you to travel long distances for a cost by traveling via the trader NPCs of various locations across the zone.
Installation
Simply drop the gamedata directory into your game directory.
There is also compatibility patches available in the patches directory, make sure you drop these in after you have performed the previous step.
Travelling
Providers
Travel providers are the NPCs who provide travel services to the player. They can send the player to any destination provided that the player meets the travel limitations of the destination.
Limitations
In order to be able to travel somewhere, you have to be at least neutral with all factions that are associated with the location that you wish to travel to. See Locations for more information on the faction associations of the various travel locations.
Pricing
As the X-Ray engine is quite unpredictable when it comes to calculating distances between the player and destination, prices may appear pretty random. They are however calculated based on the distance between the player and destination.
Time
When the player travels, time is forwarded based on the distance between the player and the destination.

Other modifications
This mod might be incompatible with other dialog-changing mods. If you are asked to overwrite a file when installing the mod, it is absolutely not compatible.
If you want a compatibility patch for a certain mod, contact me and I will make it happen.

You do not need to start a new game to utilize this modification.

FT crashes CoM's and DA's A-Life, and author didn't even fixed this. No need in this.
So its working or not?
Everything works fine, but i would like to suggest something. Make fast travel to locations you already visited, if you havent entered the map like for example yantar, then you cant fast travel there[this particular example is best, since you can go there without the hassle of going through toxic mist, and then you can buy orange suit from scientist, and dont have to bother with oxygen tanks in first place]. Even better would be to tie the condition to talking with the npc that can fast travel. I dont have coding skills to do that, so im hoping someone can do that.
Me too, I don't have that coding skill. I only add/delete few lines of this mod so it can work with Dead Air. TheLettersL's Easier Tweaks include that kind of fast travelling (where you have to go to the place first), but after that you travel from PDA, not by paying NPCs for the service.

Even if this is all just spitballing, I'd like to put down my own.
Certain paths only unlock on certain conditions.
E.g.
1) Travelling to the Hidden Base and Rookie Village should be available at the start.
2) Travelling to Rostok only unlocks after paying the 5000 RU fee at the gate in Garbage.
3) Travelling in or out of Yantar is only allowed if you have an Oxygen tank or closed cycle suit.
4) Travelling in or out of any of the Northern locations (Zaton, Yanov) requires the Brain Scorcher to be shut down. Where the player spawns in would also need to be changed as Skadovsk is abandoned in this mod.
5) You can travel to the Bandit base in Dark Valley if you have a negative rep with Loners (without Bandits outright being your enemy). With the Authority perk, one can travel there from the start no matter their rep.
6) Mercenary and Military is actually perfect right now - you can travel to them once you have your permit! And then later without it once they like you enough.
7) The (now abandoned) Freedom Base in Army Warehouses should NEVER be available for Travel. Holy hell.
It works, but at the cost of rigged A-Life, the information was in CoM/DA main group at vk.com, where admins wrote about this long time ago.
What do you mean by rigged alife?
Sorry, used wrong word. A-Life doesn't work properly because of Fast-travelling between locations, for example, loners will spawn right into the base of bandits at Garbage, or double/triple-stacking of stalkers in one spot.
yeah that's the effect of any form of fast travelling, I guess it was the game's A-Life itself. Try to sleep or go far from that place to reload the NPCs
So there's no long term issues with fast travel, it just temporarily messes up the spawns? I can see myself using this for more annoying quests like the "go kill a stalker halfway across the Zone" ones but still walking if it's relatively close.
i actually dont see any codes or something like that in the mod for DA, did it influence the ai too? or did any ai stalker can use the fast travel like the actor?

Can you please elaborate? I've been fast traveling with other addons as well as using the debug menu.
This one add Fast Traveling feature but not the way of cheating, because you have to go to the NPCs that provide travel, and you have to pay him.
why not just do a normal fast travel?! like fallout 4? way smarter!
Because being able to essentially teleport anywhere isn't necessarily the desired outcome. You miss out a lot in Stalker if you just Fast Travel everywhere, but at the same time a game with so much ground NEEDS some sort of system for travelling between the major settlements.
Works after last update?
Is there anyway you could try to change the fast travel locations as an example make the zaton fast travel spawn you in the waste processing station as the skadovsk is inhabited by monolith
So does this permanently mess up A-Life or not? Some say it does, others it's only temporary.. is this mod safe to use?

so i change the zaton waypoint to travel to the station where beard and cardan is
it work, have only to change in the "ka_Travel.script" with notepadd++ the first smart to > "zaton = "zat_b40_smart_terrain"

The last time i tried it game crashed on travel attempt. The text-bits seemed to work fine I could select my destination but as soon as iI clicked to travel game breaks down. I think the waypoints need re-referencing but I think it's safe to say that the author is currently not too invested in updating the mod. The fast travel (maptravel) from easier tweaks works for me though -> Moddb.com
Anybody else get NPCs randomly turning hostile upon entering an area? Even factions you have 1000 rep with. Seems to be semi-random, but the Great Swamps is almost consistent with this. Had this happen once in the Dead City and just now in Yanov.
If I have enough time on my hands (and the author's permission) I could try to improve locations a bit (no more warehouses, Dark Valley fast travel, no Skadovsk, etc.) but that all depends on how long I am on sick leave for.

Trying to add additional fast travel destinations (Dark Valley, sawmill in Darkscape, train yard in Garbage + removed Army Warehouses and changed Zaton to the waste processing plant) but all I get is CTDs. Anybody that could help me out?

Late to the party. Judging from the errorlog; it's a syntax error around line 15 in described ka_travel file. Quickly checking over your pastebin it seems you missed a "," in line 14 after swamp = "mar_smart_terrain_base".
I'd love to see this mod revitalized. :D

Hmm... Now it seems like I'd probably have to make the character in the Darkscape sawmill (what's-his-face) a dialog provider as well so you can actually travel OUT of the Darkscape as well. I put in the missing comma, gonna playtest it now. So far, I'd be happy just being able to travel to the DS since it is annoying as **** to get to, but I'd prefer not to half-*** it. Never done anything from scratch before and I have no idea what any of this means. Fingers crossed.
