Impressive.

The Orocarni's helmets are perhaps my favorite of the bunch. :^)

The Orocarni are a sight to love or hate, depending on what side they ends up on ^^

No Crossbows ?

I always doubted the effectiveness of a dwarf with a shortbow ... low drawpower, bad Archer traditions. they can maximal be mediocre bowmen.

No crossbows, in DCI at all, correct.

Oh certainly (even if Thorin, as a single exception, was a good marksman), I use to say our Dwarven Archers have an accuracy that gives them trouble to hit the side of a barn*.
However, when you can send arrows into a mass of enemies (like a host of filtyhy Goblins), where covering ground is as sure to cause a hit as marksmanship is, they do their part.
Consider them infantry given a bow; they are avilable from the barracks, have good armours (to handle missile fire as well as melee) and axes [even if they have less defence and attack than infantry proper], making them a hardy army unit and a great defender.
One of our bughunters named them the most valuable unit for Khazad-dûm even, haha.

As for the Orocarni Archers, they have composit bows**, which negates the drawpower issue. They are still not much more accurate than mediocre Men, but they get the range - and still have the armour to stay alive and for close quarters.

Not whatsoever, hehe

The faction was previewed long ago: Moddb.com
Some changes occured since that, like the addition of the Volunteers and that Ered Luin Spearmen and Khazâd Halberdiers switched roles and names, but all in all the models are mostly the same.

Thanks for the explanation I appreciate.

I just thought that the invention of crossbows would be natural, for the dwarves are industrious and inventive. Converting the function of a bow to a Horizontal draw mechanism.

They could also use metal components and top any bow drawpower with a crank handle, furhter they would negate their size disadvantage.

Crossbows are just perfect for dwarves.

Especially when they see these fancy elfs and their wooden bows The first thing I would think of is something that is dwarf made instead of copying a elf design.

Im fine with your design decision though.

You're welcome!

Aye, it's a good logic to that, though it do not fit our taste for ME (that weapon comes off a bit to late Medieval, even if it was invented long before) since Tolkien did not added croosbows to the legendarium for this underground folk, or crossbows at all for anyone.
Every other mod adds the fan fic' crossbows, we just will be the one exception hehe ;)

May Mahal bless you, my dear friend, for I have finally found someone trustworthy. Someone, who shall honor the true nature of my folk and not follow the foolish lies, which are spread these days.

I shall look forward to see your efforts, don't disappoint me.
