I can't wait to sit 4h at the faction selection screen, not sure which one to pick. I mean Rhovanion has a cool story, but Harad's Black Numenoreans would be awesome at fighting other Numenoreans and colonizing the coast line. Ahh but Rhun was always my favourite! And the Hill men have so obscure starting position to the point of being actally interesting. TOO MUCH CHOICE :D

Unless there's no hesitation, we wouldn't done a good job making the factions interesting enough ^^

Can also recommend Orcs of the Misty Mountains shall be noted; while I never really liked to play Orc factions in earlier games, I now consider it one of the most entertaining challenges in the game.
You begin only able to recruit petty Snaga Skirmishers, and in order to attract more warriors [unlock new units] you must sack settlements, expand the borders, join Invasions and conquer specific areas and settlements such as the Vale of Anduin or Khazad-dûm. The lead concept was 'Unleash your inner Orc' haha!

So this is second age. Does that mean we get to be Angmar

The answer to that is both "no" and "sort of", hehe.
The Kingdom of Angmar was founded in year 1300 of the Third Age, more than a thousand years later than when this game starts.
In DCI:LA we have the faction 'Hill-men of the North' (see preview) who represent the natives in northern Eriador, and live in the areas known to the Dúnedain as Rhudaur and Angmar.

So is Angmar in the Third Age? Or is the second age ridiculously long?

IRC this mod starts ~3420 SA (Second Age)
3441 SA - SA ends after the Battle of the Last Alliance (LotR intro)
1 TA - TA (Third Age) begins
1300 TA - Kingdom of Angmar is created
1974 TA - Kingdom of Arthedain (last part of Arnor) falls
1975 TA - Kingdom of Angmar falls
2948 TA - Hobbit
3018-3019 TA - War of the Ring (LotR)
3020 TA - end of TA, beggining of FA (4th age)
Yes, Angmar was in TA. Also, SA was longer than TA, but not ridiculously. Don't quote me on every date BTW, I'm doing this out of my head haha ^^

Thank you for covering that, the dates are correct, Hoar :)
Two notes only, that the Third Age ended in 3021 TA (nitpicking, haha), and that we set our game to begin in 3429 SA, the year of the start of the War of the Last Alliance (because we want Minas Ithil to begin in the hands of Mordor).

If you want an overlook of the Second Age (that as seen was about as long as the Third), Buffaloman, I've made three lore videos on the topic found here: Youtube.com

Ah, the profane youth of the last century, befuddling the good ol' Old English! :P
Well well, while I am a fan of it's meaning ( Etymonline.com ) and unconcerned by the modern meaning, the associations may prove a disfavour, heh. Will bring the matter to the table and have a chat with the team.

It's like the German translator of the LotR wanted to name the Shire "Gau", but chose not to because of Reichsgaue ^^

This is a reason I'm not overly fond of ModDB, it's not user friendly for people to find the info :P
The faction list has been official for years; go to the Summary page and click on "Read More" under the image of the Númenorean soldier for game information :)

EDIT: ninjad by Linners ^^

When this mod will be released, i think i'll be forced to swich from a faction to another in a very short amount of time cause i WANT TO TRY THEM ALL ^-^.

What will Umbar city look like on the strategic map? In TATW 3.2 and in DaC it looks pretty Haradrim but in LA is still a Numenòrean city.

Hmmm, a full DCI speed run eh? x)

The starting Harad settlemenst look like Haradrim villages and towns, while larger settlements look like their Dúnedain counterparts, as the Númenórean influence increase as the settlements grow

one silly question...shouldn't Umbar, as well as Harad, at least be partially controlled by Gondor (or the Numenórean Kingdom(s)?)
sorry for horrible english grammar and stuff in advance :S)

Hello TheVoiceOfJerec :)
Sorry for late reply, had missed the question (ModDB isn't great on notifications).
If you don't ask you won't know, so no worry. The answer to the question is no: Gondor did not capture Umbar before 933 in the Third Age (ca 1000 years after our game takes place).
Until then a dwindling population of Black Númenóreans, in a form or another, apperently held ruled over Near Harad still, but after 933 they played no role in known history.

Lorinand/Laurelindórenan/whatever having Edhellond is justice.
