Go to official forums (see Home Page on the right) Dawn of Conquest is a complete overhaul of the original Medieval II Total War. It was inspired by the classic mod Deus lo Vult (Battle Balance). The modding philosophy is "history inspired gameplay". The first release focuses on Western Europe - the conflict between England and France known as the 100 Years War and the Reconquista on Iberian peninsula. The mod is essentially a sandbox campaign with a smart AI. The key events are the Black Death that affects all of Europe and the discovery of gunpowder, which unlocks simple artillery. Most importantly, it is complete and playable! The gameplay will be slower than in vanilla. The real fun starts around turn 80-100, when most of the rebel territories are conquered and factions start to war with one another. There will be hotfixes and patches as needed and the work is continuing to expand the map Eastward to include German, Nordic and Italian fa
Zardar's aggressive playstyle and rapid conquest suits the title of the mod. Some of the cheesy strategies can feel repetitive and unfair, but his skill cannot be denied as evidenced by several open field battles against high odds.

Such a great mod, hope you're well Sandy!

Okay it works. You just need to run Dawn of Conquest.exe. Due to the fact that I have the STEAM version, I started all other mods by replacing the "americas" folder.

Hey everyone,
Given Sandy has been awol for over a year now with no log ins of any kind anywhere (assuming the worst, hope I am wrong) - Throwing out the idea if anyone else reading this has any experience with modding M2TW. While I have never modded any TW game before, I am a game developer and have some experience with java and coding. And am very experienced in graphic design and could easily match and replicate Sandy's style in DoC.
Anyway, if any of you have experience and the drive to see DoC expanded to Italy please let me know. I think we can all agree if you have played DoC that it is a extremely special mod. By far the most under the radar mod for M2TW. What Sandy did was amazing.
I'm finishing up my latest game currently and plan to be free for this project in July.
****PLEASE MESSAGE ME HERE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TEAMING UP WITH ME ON DAWN OF CONQUEST TO GIVE THIS MOD THE EXPANSION IT DESERVES****
Comments such as these are inspiring.. I have dropped out of PhD, went through a depression, and successfully changed careers. It has been a strange time for me. I am having a 2 months vacation this summer. I had been working on DoC v2 for some time on and off now over the past two years. Do not count me out yet. While I cannot make promises, I can say that I was set to make three releases and I plan to finish the job.
