I have recently been thinking about the future of dark halls as it currently stands.
I'm really unsatisfied with my messy brushwork and am taking some bad shortcuts for mapping, but it's unlikely that i'll restart development on the first map as I've come this far. A big re-organisation (including fixing of leaks, redoing some messy walls and rooms, and implementing a proper skybox) is possible in the future, but I have to balance work on the mod with school and I am not going to continue work unless I enjoy it, and doing something like that is pretty stressful and tiring for me. I always want to be moving forward in the mod, not going back, but when something is that jagged and ugly I have to do something about it eventually.
I have made lots of cool progress over the past few days and am including modified Quake 1 stuff 'cause I like the style. You can see a modified Quake 1 mechanical door in the Storage Room 1 Screenshot, that I am quite proud of.
Despite this, working around my terrible brushwork gets really tiring and I'm going to work on other stuff in the mean time until I get another burst of motivation for Dark Halls.
