DRG? You have studied some Reich locomotives. Quite remarkable.
Yes I've done research on trains from several countries.
There arent enough rts games with locomotives
Question, how did you manage to rig this up with the locomotives staying on rails while being controlled?
Is there any way we can have multi car armored trains going about loading and unloading troops and wrecking havoc?
Red Alert 2 has code within it that is leftover from Tiberian Sun, which used trains in some of it's missions. It make the rails a special type of terrain & limits the trains movement that that specific type.
Only trains that have been pre-placed on the maps can be linked together, they require special AI map scripts that cant be used by player controlled units.
so is there the possibility of multi car locomotives being a map hazard?
There was a Nod mission in Tiberian Sun in which the destruction of a wini-van made a train on a slope roll down the hill and bump into a preplaced Component Tower. The result: boom
Also: Trains can crush anything, even Units with have Immune=yes, so the answer to your question is yes
Are there any other RA2 mods featuring trains? I remember seeing some screenshot of RA2 featuring trains and tunnels, never knew where is it from.
Also, will there be any skirmish? maps featuring trains?
Several RA2 mods have added trains as map decorations, AFAIK D-day is the first mod to let the player build & control them tho.
Yes there will be several skirmish maps featuring trains.
How did you make it so that you could add train tracks and working tunnels with FA2 tho?
This is smart
Isn't that the cursor from Blitzkrieg? :P
Yep, It will be replaced with a new custom one before the next release tho.
An update: Train locomotives will now produce a continuousness smoke stream instead of rhythmical puffs.
