An unofficial sequel to the Crusader duology by Origin Systems that also crosses over Crusader's universe with Doom's. CrusaDoom puts you once again in the role of the crimson-clad Silencer, who upon returning from the moon to Earth discovers it ravaged by a demonic invasion. This mod seeks to adapt Crusader's unique features and art style to Doom's aesthetic and core gameplay. Initially intended as a mere meticulous recreation of Crusader: No Remorse's first map (the Refinery) as a Doom map, the project has been evolving into something different, branching the Crusader series in new directions while remaining as faithful as possible to the ethos of its source material.

Description

Now with maps 3 and 4, as well as some improvements to maps 1 and 2.

Super cool! Really impressed by the new assets. They all look like they are from a real Crusader first-person shooter!

However, I encountered a weird issue: in MAP01, I accessed the terminal next to the safe, but the message disappeared too quickly and I could not read it. Furthermore, I was able to open the safe and retrieve the keycard, but when I interact with the now-open safe, I get the "You need a password to open this safe" message.

I would also suggest making it more obvious when you are being healed. It took me a moment that the health terminals were slowly healing me when I was standing inside them: at first, I thought I had to interact with them, but did not know how.

The only thing I am really not a fan of is the platforming. Having to jump over pits that will instantly kill you is not my idea of fun... but since it was also present in the original games, I guess I cannot fault you for including them.

Oh yeah, I only managed to locate one secret (the secret backpack) in MAP01. Where are the other ones?

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Re: interacting with objects that were already interacted with, I'm currently looking into a solution for that. Hopefully the problem will be fixed by next release.

Re: health terminals, in the original Crusader games you just need to stand inside them for them to work. However they heal you very slowly as to avoid making the game too easy.

Re: the other secrets- now that would be telling!

So far so good, I'm really loving what you have here so far. Really enjoy the Crusader games even today, so it's nice to see them in Doom format. Keep it up! I look forward to more.

There already are a few voxels in the mod and they cause performance issues, so they're being replaced with low-poly models.
