Have you always felt bored and annoyed of being overran by an African army of Jolof which hasn't even got more men than you?

Well I have never, but this did really apply to a friend of mine, and so I decided to create this mod. And after I started, I got pleasure with that idea and so I began to extend it and now it seems to become a global project.

So, what this mod changes/will change in the future:

1. Makes it more realistic to wage a colonial war through improving unit stats of Western units drastically and reducing Native and Eastern one's in the same way.

2. Extends the timeline to 1841, but for now only rough changes at the borders.

3. Adds new technologies.

4. Adds new countries, for now only three but I will make more.

5. Adds lots of colonial regions all over the world.

6. Reworks all institution boni.

7. For all the detail-lovers (like me), the mod adds hundreds of historical names to the generals, admirals, advisors and rulers of many countries.

8. New advisor types.

I also plan to add some provinces when I have time for that.

[ FOR MORE DETAILLED DESCRIPTION, LOOK INTO THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE SPECIFIC UPDATES ]

Mod is compatible with "Common Universalis", but probably not with "Veritas et Fortitudo" and "MEIOU and Taxes" (haven't tested it) and certainly not with "Extended Timeline" (Maybe I will make compatible 'lite' versions sometimes).

Mod's not dead

News 2 comments

Although it must seem like, Colonial Wars: Realism is not dead! The problem is that my EU4 isn't working for some months now, and although I already figured out he problem, I'm somehow not able to solve it (It's not a problem with the game but with my whole PC). Of course, I can still work on my mod, but since I am not able to test the result of my work, I don't want to upload it. Luckily I've already found a tester.

Hopefully I can fix the entire issue soon and continue uploading regular updates.

A commentary did just call my attention that I in error uploaded a wrong .mod file, which was the reason why no feature worked in the 1.3 version. I'm very sorry for that. I've reuploaded the file and everything should be fixed now. My apologies!

so i took a look and i saw that this is an issue of the new map of The World is Complete which i have added. because i was told by a tester that after 1 or 2 hours of playing, game crashes when this mod (with the map) is enabled, but not with the 1.1 Beta where no map was included. so i plan to remove the map with the next update, if you want the map though, please use "The World is Re-Released" out of steam workshop.

You should probably remove the colonial religions in Russia because well Russia will expand east and it will have like tons of colonial nations that don't really help

Cool , btw thanks for making a mod for this because i was really mad when i with 11k portuguese soldiers lost against 18k natives. Especcially when in real life the spanish with 1.5 k soldiers defeated the entire Inca Empire.
