The designer made some interesting choices.
I can see the model needs more work - the teeth poke through the lower jaw. And the ankle joint is somewhat iffy.
These kinds of things can be hard to fix with the .mdl format. The main reason being if you willy-nilly add vertexes to fix issues, the skin does weird things. Monsters have to be designed right from the git-go.
Its likely this is a modified monster of some type.
For my thought, the grayscale skin works. It reminds me of the creatures in pitch black.
And the sounds are pretty creepy in the dark.
Blargs weakness is in his attack - powerful, but exactly like the fiend.
He needs charged up a bit. I'm thinking about a nasty ranged tentacle attack that drains health fast while attached to the victim.
