C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.

After about five years of working on this project, I am proud to announce that ShockWave has finally matured to a stage where it is no longer considered a public beta but a full version. Over the past few weeks, I have been working extra hard to provide all of you with a playing experience surpassing any previous version with a lot of new content, cosmetic improvements and other tweaks.

That "serious error" message probably means that you haven't patched the original Zero Hour game. Google search for the 1.04 Zero Hour patch, quickly run the patch, and you should be good.

same on my system, but i am using Win7 and XP on the Notebook...
after installing SW 1.0, it runs perfect...,but if i close the game, and try to restart, it give a Error message, but the strange thing here is: everytime it is a diffrent one...
IT says something like: "...can´t copy bla bla...
multiplayerScripts.bck
scripts.org and skirmishScripts.bck
this are the files he shows in that message... hope u can help

For all those struggling with the "technical difficulties" problem i found that downloading this patch for zero hour helped

this is a patch for updating the normal version of generals...
but the the "first decade version is allready 1.04...

i had the same problem 2.
i found out that the shockwave installer only installs the game to the First Decade root directory.
you have to hit the browse button and manually click generals zero hour and that fixed it for me.
now when u run the game if it wont let u click the buttons i just alt+tabbed and then again to get back into the game and it fixed that for me too :D
