Command & Conquer Red Alert History is a small mod that adds a few new units. The idea came about because I wondered what a few Red Alert units would look like and perform inside the Tiberium wars engine. I consider this mod a 'museum', wherein I add a few historical pieces that I like into the C&C3; engine! The Mod will be updated by adding a few units at a time (typically around 10 items). The mod is a mixture of mostly EA & public models, as well as a few original models done by me. Check the forums & articles for detailed information and for in-depth discussion.

Why airlifted and not trained from structure? The fact it's airlifted seems like it's gonna be a way greater nuisance in more open maps, and these would be hard to use en masse due to their friendly fire AoE damage.
Because I do not feel that the Soviets need a unit like this to be mass built. It is not that kind of unit (due to the ridiculous friendly fire potential).
It is usable as a reinforcement power, it is almost pointless as a base built unit.
It is supposed to be a nuisance, that is the point.
As stated in the article, if someone makes a good case, I will consider moving it to the war factory.
that is a good idea,
but if you wana bring the Red Alert 2 Demo Rush in C&C 3 then it should be available to be built from War Factory but as you said, its not very useful in every situation and is bad for your base/units.
I consider it a good idea to be a power dropped unit.
but by air seems a little bit tad more dangerous then usual :D
