United Fronts is a single-player mod that combines the campaigns of the original Call of Duty and United Offensive expansion with community created maps to form one large continuous campaign. It adds several new weapons and replaces almost all of the original weapon models. The mod requires the United Offensive expansion in order to play.
The latest version of the mod. Currently, it doesn't work with non-English versions of the game. Also, the level "Snow" will not load. This file will be reuploaded when these issues have been fixed. Click "Read more" to see an updated and corrected readme.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first release of CoD1, here is a new version of the mod, United Fronts v1.1.
If the game has not been opened before (a fresh install), you must run the game once, without any mods, using the United Offensive SP exe.
Remove any old United Fronts mod files.
Extract the files in the .zip to your Call of Duty game folder, where "CoDUOSP.exe" is located.
In your Call of Duty folder, there should be a folder called "UnitedFronts" and a .bat file called "Start United Fronts". Click the .bat file to start the mod.
Before starting the campaign, set "Video Memory" to 256 in the options menu and restart the game.
Alternate method:
If using the .bat file doesn't work, you can instead move the pk3 files from the "UnitedFronts" folder to the "uo" folder and start the game normally.
If you're new to the game, it's recommended to play the tutorial mission (select "Training" on the main menu) to learn how to sprint, cook grenades, and deploy light machine guns.
You can now deploy light machine guns on any ledge.
You can call in airstrikes using smoke grenades or artillery strikes using the binoculars. For the binoculars, the number of artillery strikes refills over time.
Satchel charges are effective against armored vehicles.
Change the order of campaign missions in the options menu. The default order of the campaign is chronological. The second option is the game's original order, starting with the CoD1 campaign, then the UO campaign, and finally the custom missions.
If you want to play only the CoD1/UO missions, set "Campaign Order" to "Original", and select "New Game".
If you want to play only the custom missions, set "Campaign Order" to "Original", open "Mission Select", select "Briefings", select "Battle of France", and click "Start Mission".
Missions listed under "Extra Maps" are not included in the campaign order and can only be started through the mission select menu.
Choose weapons in the options menu (or in between missions).
Set "Use Weapons" to "Yes" to spawn with the selected weapons for each nation.
Set "Use Weapons" to "Current Selection" to force spawning with the currently visible weapons, ignoring any nation or mission restrictions.
Choose ally and enemy factions in the options menu. (incomplete)
Complete any custom mission on Veteran difficulty to unlock the infinite ammo cheat in the options menu.
Reduced difficulty of Omaha Beach level. Added more health packs to and removed infinite spawns from some levels.

Problem solved, this person was starting the game using the CoD shortcuts instead of the .bat file.

Very good modification, you can see that a lot of work has been put into it, but there are two problems that I have noticed so far.
First, if you have the file in the ZUnitedFronts1.0_Patch4 folder along with ZUnitedFronts_1.1_beta there is an error Max ammo mismatch for "carcano" ammo: 'carcavallo' set it to 125, but ''carcano'' already set it to 120. Only by deleting the 1.0_Patch4 file does this error get rid of and the game works properly. If there is another way to solve this error, it would be worthwhile for someone to share this as well.
The second issue, on the Omaha Beach map there is an error when hitting a shell on the beach: tried to blend beetwend sound aliases 'shellshock_loop' and 'shellshock_loop_silent', but they do not have the same looping status'. So far I have not been able to fix this error, so if the creator of this mod or anyone else knows the solution to this, I would appreciate your help.
You probably have the 1.0 mod file in the folder. Remove that. There should just be one pk3 in the UnitedFronts folder.
It works, now we can storm Omaha's beaches :D Now we just wait for the September campaign.

Yes, accuracy for hip fire was reduced, similar to CoD2. Hitting targets at long range without aiming down sights is now impossible. I can change it back if people don't like it.
Yeah I prefer the original config for that honestly. I don't wanna make you upload changes for just one person though, is there somewhere in the mod file I can just edit back to original values?
There would be a lot of values to edit, so just drop this file in the UF folder instead.

I personally also prefer it the old way. In fact I already edited my own files to improve accuracy, but in future releases I'd like to see the old weapon accuracy instead. Sometimes it's just more fun not needing to ADS, especially while prone.
Big thanks to everyone involved in making all these new custom missions for v1.1. I completed all of them (except "Snow" which doesn't load at the moment) and they were so fun and challenging (played on "Regular" difficulty). I recorded all the missions and starting today I'll be uploading the missions daily on my YouTube channel. All the new missions made up over 5 hours of footage and that's AFTER cropping out all the parts where I died, so realistically the average gamer could take at least 7 hours to complete them. Thanks for making this a relatively long gameplay experience, something the present day CODs are sorely lacking.
I do have some constructive feedback about the "St. Eugene" mission though. I realized that it's mandatory to equip the binoculars (for artillery) in the loadout selection screen, otherwise you can't get past that machine gun nest at the end without dying (I had a pistol equipped instead, and sniping the MG gunner doesn't work). So maybe a pop-up like "Required item: Binoculars" would be useful when selecting this mission.
There is a way to finish St Eugene without Binocs and on the hardest difficulty. You're probably gonna need quicksave, though.

If skill won't cut it then your tactics are wrong - so try something new.Take a new path. Try what you'd do IRL. Failing that, try what you wouldn't do.

I don't understand, I did everything it says in the file and it doesn't load the missions, it exits and returns to the start menu and the options appear in capital letters
10/10 that second German level in extras really needs redoing though I just couldn't cope with the gunner at the end of the field it was just impossible to even get a shot off
Great to have this new build, I love it so far! Having the Germans use some (and not too much) captures Soviet guns is very immersive, so it's just fine!
Has the MP28 made it into this version? I haven't found any so far.
Hello, I found this mod while the newest version was 1.0 even before you uploaded the patch 4, and I really enjoy playing this mod for many years that's why I want to give suggestions for the future updates to make the gameplay issues better:
1- Can you add extra missions (the ones in mission select menu except Russian, British and USA campaign) to the main campaign? It is much better to see every single mission in only one single player campaign. Because it feels me something like these missions are excluded and it makes the game boring to select these missions one by one on mission select menu. Instead, you will distribute these missions based on their factions in the campaigns. Also, again in mission selection, if you fill all selection bars you can make Russian, British, United States Page 1 and United States Page 2, Or something like that.
2- There are plenty of British and American missions, but there are a few Russian missions. Maybe more Russian campaign mission will add in the future such as Leningrad, Battle of Moscow and so on. Plus, even more tank missions will be included in it.
3- In after Bizerte mission, there is a Russian mission named Trenches before Ponyri. In that mission, if I don't finish before that mission and I exit the game, next time I cannot load the game, it makes an error. But I can load last save of Bizerte and I can continue then after Ponyri mission there is no error on me. If you can fix it up it will be better.
Hope there will be uploaded more missions for the future :)

Great mod! and it's nice that the gameplay is more difficult compared to the base game difficulty...
However...
Russian missions are few compared to the Allied missions (US, UK), I think it's better if that will be added in the next update. I also suggest that you must change the reload animations of the M1928 Thompson (like Ziegen's from African Front Mod, which is done correctly in charging the bolt) and also the 30 cal., MG34 and MG42 because the reload is very fast, which makes it overpowered. I think it's better if the original stock reload animations will be used.

The new version of the mod is awesome and adds a ton of great stuff, but I have one really big nitpick that won't stop bugging the crap out of me...
Why does the mod no longer use the "bodyfalls" sounds? One of the most satisfying things to me about shooting enemies in this game was the "thuds" they would make when they hit the ground and now it's like they're made out of feathers. Even with the UF sound mod it's nothing but dead silence as they drop and it makes me sad.
mine has that "bodyfall" sound though (with the UF installed). i think you need to reinstall the mod
Really? I just downloaded it again and checked the sounds folder and it still doesn't have the bodyfalls sounds. I even copied the old ones from the older version of the mod but they won't play.

Okay, I figured it out. For some reason that I don't really understand, another mod called "JoJo's Ultra Blood effects and decals" was causing the bodyfalls sounds to not play.
