The definitive gameplay enhancement mod for the GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Adds realistic gore, dismemberments, headshots, executions, lightning effects, particles, makes enemies smarter and harder, makes gun louder and beefier, and adds epic new boss battles.

Disclaimer: This version is for PB 2.03, since PB3.0 is still a WIP version and will be subject to changes. Once PB3.0 is out, I'll adapt this version to it.

4 difficulty levels (Hardcore & Nightmare with or without Quake monsters)
Nightmare difficulty: The way Fearrific should be played. Unforgiving spawns & enemies
Enabled Random Fog/Lightning effects from Saegiru's mod (access from options->gameplay)
Two new enemies, one old, one new
The Shambler from Quake works properly now, along with new sounds
Demons will leap at you (credit to Doomguy5th)
Gauss Cannon replaces the Railgun, has zoom feature and a stronger, toggleable beam
Some texture replacements
Some sprite fixes
Some Sound replacements
Fixed Spawns
Riot shield guys will drop a Revolver now instead of a pistol (will do more damage too)
Baron of Hell has a new attack along with the others
Faster and more aggressive Barons and HellKnights
New "Damage" effect on visor, little static (idea from Necrodoom by Xaser)

Tougher, MUCH more aggressive monsters
Random survivors may spawn instead of Stimpacks/Medikits, helping you out (mostly as baits)
POWER ARMOR: Substitutes (sometimes) the Captured Marines or is spawned as a portable item VERY rarely.
Brutal Friends: Sentry Bots can be deployed as items (max 2)
YOU CAN NOW EXECUTE ENEMIES USING THE KNIFE COMBO BUTTON, no berserk pack needed
On Cruelty moves, the player will taunt the monsters
New Enemies (from Hordes of charred corpses to Makron from Quake II, ALL brutalized!)
New Objects to enhance your BRUTAL experience such as Nanobots, Flares, Explosive Satchels, Pipebombs! (Satchels/Pipebombs: weapon 0, Flares are inventory items)
New/Revamped Sounds for Doom (almost all of them)
ShieldSphere (75% damage reduction) replaces Berserk
50-50 chance to spawn a ShieldSphere or a Blursphere instead of a Berserk Pack
Personalized HUD graphics with sounds (such as ambient/damage sounds)
Hud that damages the less armor you have (visual effect)
Revamped Blood & Gore Features
New Music
Full Retexture
Full sprite overhaul (most of them REDONE)
Optional Player sounds! (Isaac Clarke - Quake II Marine)
Two new Difficulty settings which increase the damage potential both you and monsters do, plus they undergo some little tweaks to their kits (like Imps throwing cacoballs for example)
########## INSTALLATION GUIDE ##################
Download the mod, put everything in your folder and choose the method you prefer. The load order should be like this:
1) Maps (if you're using any) --- FIRST ONE (hellonearthstarterpack.wad, AV.wad etc.)
2) PrBru2.pk3 -- ALWAYS first after maps, it's CORE
3) F5_Hud.pk3 -- HUD
4) F5_Sprites.pk3 -- SPRITES
5) F5_Textures.pk3 -- TEXTURES
5) F5_Sounds.pk3 -- SOUNDS
6) Fearrific_PB203.pk3 -- CORE
7) MECHS.pk3 -- Combat Armor
--OPTIONALS, to be loaded AFTER Fearrific_PB203.pk3--
8a) F4_Music.pk3 -- NOT INCLUDED (DONWLOAD LINK BELOW) -- Music!
8b) F5_Q2P.pk3 -- Quake II Marine voice!

If (like me) you don't use the loader, then follow these steps instead:
Create a shortcut to Desktop of gzdoom or whatever port you're using (I'm using GZDoom, I suggest you
to look for the equivalent method for loading files with Zandronum and similar).
Right-click --> Properties
Target (should look something like this: C:\gzdoom\gzdoom.exe)
Paste this after the .exe (make sure you separate it with a space first): -file PrBru2.pk3 F5_Hud.pk3 F5_Sprites.pk3 F5_Textures.pk3 F5_Sounds.pk3 Fearrific_PB203.pk3 MECHS.pk3
If you want to use F5_Music and/or F5_Q2P.pk3 (description above), load them AFTER Fearrific_PB203.pk3.
If you're using a mappack (like, hellonearthstarterpack.wad) load it BEFORE PrBru2.pk3 (should be the first one after -file).
In the end, if you're using F4_Music and F5_Q2P.pk3 when using the hellonearthstarterpack.wad file, should look something like this:
C:\gzdoom\gzdoom.exe -file hellonearthstarterpack.wad PrBru2.pk3 F5_Hud.pk3 F5_Sprites.pk3 F5_Textures.pk3 F5_Sounds.pk3 Fearrific_PB203.pk3 MECHS.pk3 F4_Music.pk3 F5_Q2P.pk3
Apply --> Ok --> Launch it and ENJOY!
DO NOT USE PROJECT BRUTALITY WITH IT, ITS ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE SINCE I'VE THOROUGHLY MODIFIED IT.

Okay the first mission on the hell on earth starter pack is nearly unbeatable.
There are stacks of imp like zombies, literal stacks of them, standing in the next room and in several other places

Fix it? You have barrels, satchel charges, pipebombs, flares. Use the environment or lower the difficulty :)
I couldnt prevent the stacking, but its merely an aesthetic issue.
Which sprites? Probably an issue with the massive compression when making the 7z file.
Okay okay, the difficulty I could get used to but the sprite error, if removed, would make the game more fun to look at
I noticed the first one was the HoE toliet sprite. It apparently wont load and just gives the exclamation point thing

Are you talking about the Horde guys? I don't really like them either. I like the idea of them, but I think they need a lower cap on how many can spawn, because it gets out of control and lags maps out pretty quickly.
Chance of spawning 5 of them instead of a zombie. Manageable ;)
See this is the issue with a lot of independent content creators online. There are some good ideas here, and this add on has potential, but as I scroll through the comments, I'm finding a running theme. There are people here giving you solid, real criticism of this add on. Genuine pointers for how to make it a more enjoyable experience. And rather than taking this criticism and using it to improve your work, you respond with cheeky comments telling them their opinion is wrong, and how they should use the environment. The winky smiley face really sells your concern for what people think of this. Just saying. Maybe be a bit more open to suggestion.

Hmm, the shotgun (pump action, primary one you pick up) doesn't have ANY reload sounds. Is this normal?

Great mod!!!! The shotgun counter seems to be not working.
Tried ZDL and GZDOOM both have same problem w/ or without hud.
The total shells on the counter seems stuck.

The ACS file that regulates that parameter is in PrBru2.pk3. Are you sure you're loading it?
The mod won't run on latest gzdoom,gzdoom svn or zandronum for me.I tried all the load orders and I keep getting a script error that says Unexpected 'cboxpkup' in definition of 'NewClipBox'

Only thing I think happens is a fuckup from GZDoom, which already happened to me a while ago. Try doing a fresh GZDoom install (simply put the GZDoom files somewhere else, paste the mod files there and use that).
My bad, I hadn't updated my GZDoom in a while. I tried out the mod, and i'm not sure about it. It clearly has a lot of care and effort put into it, but I don't see why you wouldn't just try project brutality instead. I also noticed that the sounds seemed a bit off. They just seem a bit muffled, but still overwhelmingly loud. I only got the addon so I could do the executions with the melee combo, but the mod changes too much for me to just focus on that. I would love it if you could release an addon that lets you always do executions for BDV20 or PBV2.03 if possible. Keep doing what you're doing!

Explain the error. What script error, which file creates this, "no matter what file I try" doesn't help, and honestly suggests that you've got the installation/setup guide wrong.
GZDoom? This is for GZDoom only, I haven't tested Zandronum nor I want to test it.
Are you using ZDL? Do you drag and drop files on the exe? Did you change the -file thingy on the shortcut to desktop? What method are you using?
using newest version of GzDoom.
Also tried older GzDoom.
I did drag PrBru2 and Fearriffic onto GzDoom.exe and ZDL.
Tried EVERY combination. (together with the other mods, without, PrBru only F-only and so on...)
If you use different mods with mine you're bound to get errors.
Within ZDL, THIS should be the ONLY load order if you want to play with Fearrific. Any variations are to be used at your own risk. I.imgbox.com
Note: HC20 is a map pack, put any maps you want to play fearrific with before everything else. Other gameplay mods are NOT supported. Lights/Brightmaps are GZDoom .pk3 files.
