BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.
Some clipping, but it fits. Its physically small enough that it could feasibly fit through with some special animations, but it works.
Could this be used for allys to teleport?
I'll ask what he's asking ;)
Kinda like the Aeon teleporter in Supreme Commander 2.
Standard Stargate logic: The gate doesn't care what team you're on, only which end you're on; you can only enter from the side that dialed, but anyone can get through. It can even dial up any other experimental quantum gate, including enemy gates, but you can't dial tech 3 quantum gates, and you will also have to get through the shield preventing rematerialisation first.
The shield can survive, I believe, 3 Ythotha's trying to enter. Can't remember off hand. The shield auto disables when connecting to another gate you own, and auto enables when an enemy dials into you. If you dial an ally's gate you will need to ask them to turn off the shield if it's on; I set it to not trigger one way or the other with allied gates for the sake of games without fixed teams.
Aircraft are currently disabled from going through, because of a lot of weirdness related to them going through accidentally.
It doesn't send projectiles through yet, but I'm working on it. So you will be able to fire through it when its released.
There is currently no maximum time for gates to be connected, but I am considering setting one for connecting to enemy gates, since you can't disconnect the connection on the exit end.
XD Wow, seems like you took my previous comment to heart, just glad air/epic units are too awkward/big to fit through... or can they?
Your comment, and Oaks comment; who seems to post in the main page instead of the images.
Any land based experimental that path through a pair of walls 5 squares apart it can get through it. Which is most since they tend to ignore path blocking. Although hovering experimentals and amphibious floating experimentals don't ignore path blocking, so they have to actually be able to fit.
In short, pretty much all land experimentals can get through, but the Absolution really struggles.
Ah good to know, will have to pay attention to this structure, lest an experimental hell appears before me. XD
