BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.

cause i think of the former..
The boat is building the turret. (turret-building boat, not turret that is building a boat). It is the Tech 3 Assist & Repair Ship, which is also allowed to build shields, AA, torpedos, and a naval factory.
And yes, I still basically never make boats. This was mostly done on a request.

I think as I recall his comment is he doesn't use boats much.
Others of us like to play with navies as well as the rest. I was the one that asked about the ship, I was trying to make one myself but after a few attempts found that I don't have the depth of experience to do it right.
One of the things that hampers fleets is there was nothing to repair them on offense, engineers are much slower to move across water. This fills a real role as most fleets have tenders that serve a repair and support function.
