BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.

Walls now also follow the terrain

To mostly copy-paste directly from the image caption; This is objectively a graphical improvement for the T1 walls. I am not sure about the T2 walls. I want peoples opinions on this with the T2 walls. The T3 walls are currently unaffected by this, but they could be.

It does look a bit better with my second version of the script that takes the average incline from all 4 directions instead of just 2, and I could extend the models out so the gaps are filled somewhat. But yeah, I am in two minds about it otherwise I wouldn't have asked.

I have a idea for an alternative script that would move the segments up and down based on the terrain under that half of it, although that one would require reworking of the models because they currently don't have facing meshes inside. That one would stay upright like before, but reduce the stepping on severe inclines.

I have been considering redoing the textures of the UEF and Cybran T2 walls. I don't think either are very good. They were just low priority.

Really nice for T1 walls but not for T2 or T3 walls they adapt quite nicely and more naturally to terrain the way they are now.

But really great addition for T1 walls !

UEF T2 wall is way more better if you can somehow cut them into half (perhaps same size as T1) so they will blend themselves better when you build on slopes.

And those walls will look better without those oversized tarmac.

Привязку к местности надо оставить только для Т1 стен. Т2 и Т3 стены, лучше не изменять...

The current build has all walls which don't join to one-another, e.i: the T1 walls and the Seraphim T3 shield wall, and the mines use this. I'll work on that alternative script I mentioned for the T2 and T3 walls.

On a side note, ModDB for some reason only lets you see the results of a poll you created if you yourself vote on it. Except I don't want to influence the outcome, so I have to ask other people to tell me the results.
