Blood Extra Crispy is another mod created by me that will try and change things up once again for another classic game of my childhood. Expect more weapons, more fire modes, more gore, gameplay enhancements, and pretty much what's expected from yours truly. If you're looking for a fresh new experience with Blood then look no further. Thanks to Nightdive Studio's latest KEX engine release, Blood Fresh Supply has opened up a whole new world for Blood modding. Blood Extra Crispy is my attempt at kicking things off with a bang.

The best thing about the ideas here is removing hitscan bullets and making them projectiles. Though here the bullet projectiles are a tad to big, they look like the flares. I would suggest looking at how Brutal Doom models its bullet projectiles for an idea. But this is a good start; Id personally love to see some new enemy types that are more than just reskins.

Definitely could have Flamethrower Cultists in Orange(with new sprite work) and when killed with explosives have them explode and have a slight change of them exploding with other weapons. I always imagined having Undead Warriors wearing armor, kind of like the zombies but when armor you could shoot off. A perfect opportunity for a new boss would be for Cryptic Passage, instead of two Cerberi you could have some Egyptian style boss.

i totally agree with this suggestion the more gore,enemies,weapons,kill animations the better.

I added better looking tracer sprites but you can't make them look as good as Brutal Doom. This is the KEX engine reverse engineered to act like the Build Engine used to make Blood. So we don't have all the advanced features of GZDoom or Zandronum because the engine used to make the original Blood is less advanced. The best I can do is add circular sprites that you can visibly see flying.

New enemies will be added once map editing begins for the next big release. This Open Beta is being used to make a solid version 1.0 foundation to build upon.

While I've only played for 20 minutes or so, I can see the effort that it took. My main complain would be that the fiery bits that enemies left when exploded could be harmless, because I imagine running around a pile of flaming remains wouldn't be a good experience.

He's saying the tiny fire spots/trails enemies leave on the floor when on fire or when something explodes should not harm you.

I happen to agree with this. I take more damage from fire on the floor more than anything in the game, and it's kind of a balance issue.

I haven’t heard enough complaints about this to remove it. But if I do I’ll look into it. I like how it is now because yes it can hurt you but it also hurts the enemies too. That’s how it balances itself out.
