the real reason the Porsche turret was taken out was because the front plate was not on thickness throughout (take a very close look at any models or pictures you can get and you will see what i mean)

Well actually that was not the only reason. By its designe it was harder to build and also had more disadvantages. It carried less rounds and you were not able to stand up straight when reloading the maingun which made the work hard for the Loader. Typical Porsche Idea. When almost every german facility was bombed out he came along with those super hard to build things :D

Yeah true it was only produced at Porsche´s Company but still Ferdinand Porsche was a genius when it came to the hard to build or stupid things like the Ferdinand/Elefant and many more.

Falsch ,der Porscheturm hat den Nachteil das bei Frontaltreffern das ankommende Geschoss in den drehkranz gelenkt wird ( Wie eine Geschossfalle) daher hat man ein anderes Turmdesign gewählt( siehe auch Panther G da hat man das problem durch die Verwendung einer geänderten Blende gelöst ) ausserdem bot der Prod.Turm bessere Platzverhältnisse .
