Black Sol is a SoaSE mod from version 1.05 that is being updated for diplomacy 1.2.
Hello guys It’s been a long time since an update and I am sorry about this, Vega has been busy with school and I was on vacation for 3 and a half weeks so we haven’t had much time to work on the mod.
So here is the progress report:
Vega has finished coding all the ships and modules for the Shadow and the UEC and is now creating the research tree for the races. He has also updated the particle effects so they don’t look quite so over flamboyant and don’t lag the game as much.
So far we are planning to add to the mod.
3 new races with their own ships, models, research, sounds, and strengths and weakness. However; we plan to completely remove the old races since they are very underpowered compared to the new ones.
Each race has their own unique capital ship that is specialized to the was the race plays. Also, there is a new diplomacy/advanced support capital ship that is available for all races.
5 new planet types and 3 space anomalies.
Change the pirate race to a NPC outcast/savager race that uses a combination of tech and unites from the other races.
However; we are having a hard time creating models and an even harder time texturing them, so any help from anyone who help us with this would be greatly appreciated.

We are looking for some one who can texture our models. If you have any texturing experience please contact me or BlackVega.
I can texture, can not say I am the best or as good as others who can apply but I can.
I like the style of this new race. Mind if I model something for them? Like how I picture them? You don't have to use it, I just want to see how it turns out.
Please feel free to make some models we definitely need them
Just what i like to see....Laser Beams....Fat Laser Beams....thin Laser Beams....more beams and a big BOOM...followed by lots of missiles and more Beams...^^ .Great I love it...keep up the good work.
Does this mod have or plan to have new meshes for the new factions/races?

Yes, we do plan to have models for the new races; however neither of us are very good at modeling and have absolute no idea how to texture (though both of use are fairly good at using photoshop) so i might be awhile before we have any new meshes for the mod :(
3d Max is a good program to use for both!
i dunno how you would convert the models to Sins, but still.
They got a 2008 version for free on the pirate bay, and it works!
I'd be willing to trade models for particle effects :P
