Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
This one is my favorite. Now it seems awesome compared to the huge empty lobby with only a desk
*Agrees so much, that hits several times the + button*
Just that it's still a huge empty lobby... something that's a particular feature of huge... empty... lobbies...
But hey there is a security camera!
Sneaky mission?
I'm going to look bad for killing the marines... they look so real.
Also on a side note, this might be the first current game (mod remake I guess) to feature killing American troops. I never thought of that.
There has been a few, mainly games like Call of Duty, Battlefield series, and a few misc ones.
But yes, he is fully within his right to kill those Marines; as they'd kill him without batting an eye and laugh about it.
Ah yes BF, I don't know why I didn't think of that. Call of Duty multilayer, also, but I don't think you were ever killing actual American troops in SP. I don't recall the game very well but any Americans being killed were most likely currupt. I don't think the ESRB likes it when players are killing American troops just doing their job. Same thing with 'terrorists'. Russians are okay though ;D
what difference does it make that they're american? USMC are probably one of the most barbaric, unfeeling, bloodthirsty outfits on the planet.
Everyone in a uniform killing people is "Just doing their job," that doesn't make it OK.
personally, I think it's an honest portrayal of the US military's impunity in HL1
US military is no more corrupt than any other military force out there.
indeed but they have they more funding and weaponry at their disposal than the next ten industrialized nations ... combined. They have more to play with so to speak and thus are far more deadly. The war like culture and Soviet like shoot 1st ask questions later as the standard doesn't help either.
There are those in any military that are purely sociopaths out to kill for sport. The rest of them are just stuck in ****** war zones under **** conditions and thus become frustrated and mentally imbalanced also adding fuel to the fire.
Most of them just try to get trough it and watch each others backs out there but still war ***** with your mind and morals.
Except for the IDF. Marines should look at them as role models. Seriously.
Except for the IDF, and ever other professional outfit pretty much. The USMC is pretty unprofessional. Though an idiotic American would naturally big them up.
"indeed but they have they more funding and weaponry at their disposal than the next ten industrialized nations ... combined"
Uhm, no they don't. Not even close.
I'm predicting that ballsopt and iridium_acid never stand up during the plege at school, considering that both of them are American and say this type of crap.
Have you ever been in a va hospital? Trust me, it can be dame depressing there.
US military is no more corrupt than any other military force out there.
True
You should talk to more Marines if you truely believe that they are bloodthirsty, unfeeling barbarians.
Never said they were barbaric or unfeeling. I'm simply stating that it's not like they're perfect. In fact, I was defending them when I said that. No military force on the planet is without corruption, and the Marines have done their fair share of questionable operations.
I was replying to Ballsopt. I recognized that you were defending the USMC, iridium.
USMC as barbaric bloodthirsty monsters? Not at all my friend. They are an invasion force though, so they have to forceful.
"USMC are probably one of the most barbaric, unfeeling, bloodthirsty outfits on the planet."
No they aren't you moron, what the hell are you smoking ballsopt? The USMC are a ******* joke. Their basic training is shorter than the standard British Army infantry course let alone the likes of the IDF.
At the end of MW2 you kill American soldiers.
Deus Ex technically, because you were killing UNATCO and MJ12 troops as well.
Needs moar evil Russians them.
these guys aren't marines. they are HECU's. [hazardous enviromental combat unit] none of you played opposing force? ._.
This place is gorgeous. Very good job with light.
You wouldn't believe the issues I've had with the lightmaps in this room D:
And i actually belive...
I love the design of the lobby and all the added details.
I would just like to see the look on those faces that said "this mod is dead"
Incredible! The lighting looks great and so does the architecture.
Big question though: is that symbol above the doorway a model?
Yes, it's a static prop.
It's excellent
Nice stuff, although the textures looks off, especially the beige concrete. Looks low-res almost (notice the lack of AA, is this a grab w/ low res settings? )
Otherwise very nice.
look at shdows, this...is..amazing for source engine...
HNNNNGGG LIGHTMAPS SO HARD
It seems like you will be able to be stealthy in this level
I with that they had female security guards just like in Azure Sheep.
