Back2Fronts is an extensive mod that will overhaul your Call of Duty 2 game to a next level. This mod brings more variety, intensity, realism and battle-like experience. Try new weapons, fight new enemies, fulfil new missions and explore new options. Mod is SP and MP friendly (although primary part is SP).
First person animation of the Nagant. Nagant revolver has a very unique way of reloading procedure and I decided to replicate it with custom animation. It reloads one bullet at a time in a segmented reload, much like the scoped K98 or Winchester 1897 shotgun.

If anyone of you played RO2 you know this. Although they got one mistake in their anim - the extraction segment was missing.

agreed the animations are ok as a WIP in my opinion but hey at least we got a working nagant eh?
BTW here is a vid demonstrating how a nagant is actually reloaded ... if possible id love to see animations as detailed as these :P Quite a tedious affair but hey because of this design this is the only revolver in the world that can be suppressed :D
REVOLVER NAGANT M1895 reload by WolfKOTTO from Gunsliger COP mod
I really like that model, but in the reload animation it looks like he's putting the bullets in from the front.
Its really looking great, all the animations, the shooting, the hitting and the reloading. Although i have to agree a bit with KeMoN, i to had the idea
that he was loading it from the front, and that made it look a bit odd. Know this is not what you want to hear, but we just have to be honest.
That said, know that its not such a big deal breaker for me. I would play your mod with it for sure, and wouldn't mind to much about it. After a while we don't look that much anyway anymore to loading animations etc, at least not me. I am more focussed on enemies and the shooting and aiming.
great video, thanks,
Leon
pcapaolo is right. player is pushing the empty ammo out of the gun and then he loads new bullet. you just dont see the actual bullet loading (but it is there in the animation).
btw if you listen carefully you can hear player pushing the empties out and when the hand is out of camera you hear bullet loading.
well the thing that may be confusing to people is the extraction part, perhaps you wanted to show the rod pushing the casings out of the cylinder..
its really a great looking animation, and i like the sounds alot, nice work
Exactly.
I might try adjusting camera view to show the actual loading. But personnaly I like it that way.
I think adjusting the view a little, might help to understand the process a lot! I just watched some videos and the movement which I thought was reloading the bullets from the front, was actually pulling that small lever back ejecting the shells. This is a highly interesting weapon and a really nice choice you made!! Understanding the reloading process I think your animation is really good! Great work as always *tips his hat*
For others struggling like I did:
Wow, that reload animation is awesome!!! But I don't know if it will fit the COD2 engine or not.
Don't think so and I wouldn't suggest it. It is WAY too slow for a FPS (at least MP). I just linked it here, because it helps to understand the mechanism of the gun, which is highly interesting!
like Mosin Nagant Original reload where you don't see the clip?
