Although I don't feel like this is the product I wanted to upload. I realize that it has been a very long time since I uploaded something! There have been a lot of changes made to the game. A lot of these changes are "under the hood" in nature. A big one was eliminating the bombard command from artillery halftracks and artillery tanks. I reduced the upkeep of infantry regiments to make them more competitive with mech and armor. I changed the WW2 map to include a wider variety of terrain. Then there is the 428 new SP maps. I didn't add an expanded campaign this time. I felt like there was too much work that still needed to be done.
every nation in the game has at least one dedicated single player map for it.
I added new music for Poland and Nationalist China.
right now my plan is to post another upload on June 6th, 2024 for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. I will do another upload on September 2nd, 2024 for VJ-Day's 80th anniversary.
this is a comprehensive reworking of the original game. the WW2 map now features 181 territories. There are 15 playable factions for the WW2 game. there is a 16th semi-playable faction that includes defensive armies. These defensive armies represent an additional 21 non-playable nations that players are able to fight with or against. The WW2 RMC maps now feature independent bandit camps that will fight against anybody that crosses their path. These have been added to parts of South America and China. In a similar manner, Partisan camps have been added to Yugoslavia - who will also fight anybody that gets close to them.
There are 428 new single player missions. I can't promise that all of them are complete, though! I admit that I try to have fun while working on this mod. so, for the last year or so that meant that I worked on things as a natural response to my readings in history. These new missions cover a span from 1918 until 1950. I tackle the Baltic Wars of Independence, where Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania manage to gain independence from Russian rule. The Sino-Soviet War of 1929 has a three mission set. The Chaco War gets a half-dozen missions. I also include the Battle of Anchem, the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, Ethiopian partisans, and the Woyane Rebellion as part of this upload. My old Burma maps were glitching very badly, so I had to remove them. I have created the start of a new Burma campaign that focuses on Japanese conquests starting from the border of Thailand as they advance to Mandalay.
I also tried to focus on neglected battles. The Italian invasion of Greece. The role of Hungary, Italy, and Romania as part of the Axis invasion of Russia. Too many popular histories seem to give Germany credit for every victory that ever took place on the Eastern Front.
I have also included missions that aren't connected to WW2, but which I find interesting. I have missions that focus on the Indonesion Revolution, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1948, the military annexation of Hyderabad, the Malay Emergency, the Qinghai-Tibet War of 1932, the Ili Rebellion in 1944, the Zarumilla War where Peru and Ecuador fought each other during WW2.
Thailand was a source of inspiration for me. I have missions for the Boworadet Rebellion and the Franco-Thai War.
I created perhaps two-dozen maps that were inspired by Latin American warfare in the 20th Century.
There are coup d'etat missions where players fight against their own countrymen for Argentina, Bolivia, Iraq, and Romania. the Paraguayan Civil Wars of 1922 and 1947 in Asuncion are included as well.
Most of the missions are historical - but a handful of them are purely speculative: the Fall of Tehran and the Fall of Addis Ababa are maps that never happened... but it's fun to imagine what COULD have been.
each map required at least an hour or two of reading. I would then hunt down several historical or current maps to create a composite. I would then draft a grid overlay and plot out the major objectives. Often I found that I would need to create new generals to populate the map with the right historical players. Even a relatively simple map would take two-to-three hours to complete.
Some of the more ambitious maps might take over a week. Arras (France), Budapest (Hungary, and Odessa (Ukraine) all took over a month to create. In the case of the Arras map I actually looked at vintage WW1 panoramas and trench maps to help me add a touch of authenticity and extra detail. the coal slag heaps and windmills are actually very close to where they would have been in real life.
my main concern was to have fun. so, there are a lot of little details that I've most certainly missed.
feel free to provide feedback on the forum.
Forums - Axis & Allies: Uncommon Valor mod for Axis & Allies - Mod DB
Can we get an Axis Mission where we have to avoid the Maginot Line and cross into Belgium and a reworked version of D-Day mission that is up to date with the mod's content?
Congrats!!!!
nice work man!! but there are more; bugs, red boxes,
and pink guns than i remember.
Still i am very grateful for you not forgetting this gem!
Gizmotron any patches planned for now?
the mod STILL needs to be installed the C-Drive. if you have installed the mod on another drive there will be a LOT of missing skins!
I've included Eben Emael, Liege, Hanut, Gembloux, Sedan, Montcornet and a few other missions with Allied fortifications.
Honestly felt it was more interesting to make an Operation Dragoon map than on D-Day. A new Canadian D-Day mission has been included. I will update the original SP maps again for the next upload. By that time, I'll have a better idea of where to relocate the missions.
on x86 or where?
also mod didn't replaced anything in game files
since this program is over a decade old it needs to be installed in the Programs x86 folder in the latest version of Windows to function properly.
i did that already some units fine others not
Great job!
Great mod but I have found a few issues when playing as Poland in the skirmish mode - the recon and machine gunners have bugged models, some of them are textureless colour blobs.
I just wanted to say thanks for making this mod. My dad and I used to play this together and to see there's still life in it make me happy.
Couple of things I have noticed.
Germany is seriously OP. Like if you could simulate WW2 mode with all CPUs playing, Germany would win every time. This makes playing as smaller nations extremely difficult to impossible.
There are still some units showing me a red box after being built, but I think you are working on those still.
The enemy likes to build their buildings in my areas. I have had them build industrial HQ's, motor pools, engineer and artillery brigades right in the middle of my bases. I don't know if you altered something, but this wasn't an issue before I installed the mod.
Lastly, the maps that have the airfields, factories, ruins, and other buildings, those maps are really overloaded with that stuff. Would be nice if they were dialed back a little.
Otherwise, this is a fantastic mod. Thanks for working on it!
Germany, Russian, and the USA can be very OP in the WW2 Metagame because I haven't studied how to restrict or eliminate technologies. if I could, for example, force players to wait for certain technologies to become available I believe this would help the WW2 game immensely.
unfortunately, the enemy deploying buildings INSIDE the player's sphere of influence was something that I commonly saw in the original game. I have made the AI far more aggressive at deploying buildings and units, so this inherent flaw in the original AI becomes far more pronounced.
Bro could you do one thing that a friendly AI is really stupid in war they just likely to move around their buildings but not like to make it's all army and push against the enemy like I want or I do!
Is there any suggestion from you?
Btw nice 👍 work Keep it Up
Idk why this game is not popular 🥲
up plis speed units t95 pt
I downloaded the original game from oldgamesdownload. How can I install this mod?
I copied the mod files into the game file directory but seems no effect. Would anyone please help? Thank you very much.
have you been able to successfully play the original, unaltered game yet?
the game needs to be installed on the C drive in Program Files (x86).
you paste the fully extracted mod Data and video folders inside of the Axis & Allies folder inside of the Atari folder.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Axis & Allies\Data
sometimes people have trouble playing the game because they need an authorization key. another common problem is that this mod only works for the English language version of the game. so, if you got another language version it might not function properly.
