Photorealistic reshade for Portal 2 that makes the game look like it was released this year

This can be installed for almost any game in addition to Portal 2, but the installation process will vary. Here is a version for Half-Life 2 (and all Half-Life 2-based games): Nexusmods.com

How to install:

1. Download this mod and the latest version of Reshade from: Reshade.me
2. Run the .exe installer you downloaded
3. Press select game, and navigate to \steamapps\common\Portal 2\bin
4. Select vvis.exe and press ok, tick the box that says Direct3D 9
5. The program will ask you if you want to download a collection of standard effects, click yes.
6. Make sure everything is selected and press OK
7. Close the installer
8. Place the Aperture.ini and ReShade.ini from this zip into \steamapps\common\Portal 2\
9. Place the filmlut.png file into \Portal 2\bin\reshade-shaders\Textures
10. Launch the game, press the home key to open reshade menu
11. Select the aperture reshade preset by pressing the small arrows at the top of the menu

Done, you can use the tickboxes to disable / enable effects you want. It is important to keep the LUT tickbox enabled.

You techinally can unstall it by deleting everything in the portal 2 folder and call it a day, but you'd have to know how to validate the files in steam. Thats how I unstalled a ultra graphics mod off portal 2, simply go to your steam directory > steamapps > common > portal 2 > delete everything in the folder BUT NOT THE ACTUAL FOLDER. Then validate your files, it might take some time but it should get the job well done. I am pretty sure you know how to validate your files, if you dont know how to do that, look up a tutorial.

To properly uninstall ReShade, Remove d3d9.dll file and reshade-shaders folder and it's ini files inside the game's bin folder, and the outside one if there's any. DO NOT DELETE THE ONE FROM SYSTEM32.

You need to install ReShade from the official website after installing this mod, then use the Home button (in newer ReShade 4.x or 5.x), or Shift+F2 in ReShade 3.x.

Btw it is also recommended to disable MSAA in-game for ReShade depth buffer to work, which you can use more effect like ambient occlusions if you want.
