Using GZDoom, you can expect a large amount of features that were never possible with the original game like slopes, scripts, fog, 3D-floors and many more things that will significantly alter the experience you had with the vanilla version of Doom II.

Update on episode 2

I've just released another news video where I show some brand new screenshots of various improved areas and progress on the first two maps of episode 2. As I mentioned a couple of times before, I'm working closely together with Zanieon on this project. He has sent me some screenshots of the work he did so far on the first map of the second episode, as you can see in the images below.

Matching styles

If you look at the video and the screenshots in the article, you'll notice some subtle but very nice changes in the texturing and general detailing of some areas in the first map. We both agreed that I will be responsible for the layout and entity placement, while Zanieon takes care of some of the texturing and extra detailing. We both have different styles when it comes to making Doom maps so I'm really excited to see that they go together quite well.

What about the third map?

In the video, I also talk briefly about my plans for the third map in the episode, which is going to be a little different in terms of layout when you compare it to the first two maps. I already have some stuff on paper so I won't keep you waiting for too long with some fresh new content here on ModDb.

If an image says more than a thousand words, a video with images included will hopefully say even more so have a look at the video below and be sure to leave a comment because I'm always interested in some feedback. Thank you for reading/watching and enjoy the video!
