Alpha Project is a Battlefield 2 modification which goals are to bring back all the features that were left out in the retail game. The gameplay style of the mod is a mixture of arcade and realism.
DESCRIPTION:
Obviously, headlights will lighten up dark areas when using them lol this little effect in combination with a lightsource will add even more eyecandy to alpha projects night time maps without a single framedrop!

Night maps do not work properly on the BF2 engine at all. There is a reason why PR night maps still are light enough for you to see everything.
imo for the age of the engine it works good enough, we dont need nvgs or so, i usualy design night maps so you can still see whats going on and as you can see on my screens it works or do i get something wrong ;)
overall irl the night is never pitch black, when you move in the outside the eye usualy get used to the darkness pretty fast, thats a way i setup the lighting in our maps
Not to be a ****, but have you ever lived outside a city?
There are plenty of places that when it gets dark you can't see your hand in-front of your face.
Especially in places where moon/star light doesn't reach like wooded areas.
Will this lead to awesome flashlight attachments!? :D
i dont think so, at least i havent tried attach this to a firearm, maybe it works but i wouldnt count on that... especialy not for customization, this would add another half year of work...
It could work for pick-up kits in the night maps but we don't need in BF2 I think. Flashlight could be necessary when you couldn't see enemy in the dark, but in BF2 night maps aren't to dark to reduce your sight. But at least flashlights and lasers are cool attachments!
I believe those are cool in some way, but after seeing what DICE did with Battlefield 3 for those attachment, my likeness for those have disappeared :(

Well, what I can tell you, is the fact that we are close. We are still in the phase of implementing new content, but I believe we are almost done with that since the customization system is almost full. After that, it will just be a matter of testing the mod and then fine-tuning it till it is prim and proper. :)
