Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
IKS Gr'oth leads the vanguard force as the Klingon fleet leaves Mempa.
The time had come. Intelligence reports showed that the Klingon fleet was mobilising. Their vanguard forces would cross the border in five days, and reach Starfleet's defence perimeter in three more.
An emergency meeting of the Federation Council was convened, during which Starfleet Commander in Chief Admiral Marcus Ramirez gave the following speech:
"Once, many years ago, a terrible war against a common foe forged in all of us the bonds of fellowship that have preserved this Federation for almost a century. All that we have today is owed to the bravery and sacrifice of those who came before, who fought for the dream that all beings can be united in peace. Today that dream stands on a precipice.
For nearly four years we have battled the Klingon Empire. Arcanis, Inverness, Ajilon, Japori - all Federation worlds languishing under Imperial tyranny. Though we pushed them back at Axanar and Regulus, the Empire is far from deterred.
By now you've all seen the reports. We are facing an enemy that is committed to our total destruction. An enemy that demands to be fought - and so we will fight! We cannot allow the tragedy of Arcanis to happen again! To defend this Federation, we must go forward boldly, with courage, and attack! And we must be committed, no matter the cost! The coming days will decide the fate of our civilisation. It will be difficult. We will lose more ships and lives. But I say to you all that our greatest challenge is not the might of the Klingon fleet. The greatest challenge laying before us is to do what must be done without undoing the Federation dream!
For myself, I have but one fear - destroying the dream of the Federation. Compared to such a loss, I do not fear the Klingon Empire!"
Admiral Ramirez's rallying cry spread like wildfire throughout the Federation. Starfleet would not wait to fight off the Klingons - they would sally out and attack the Imperial fleet head on.
