Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
Another star is added to the list - another main sequence star, this time a K-type.
K-type stars, often called 'orange dwarfs', are the happy middle ground between a G-type like our own sun, and the much cooler but longer living M-type. Typically containing between 0.5 and 0.8 times Sol's mass, and with a temperature generally ranging between 3,500K and 5,000K, these stars actually have a significantly greater temperature than the M-type, but are far more common than the G-type, and emit less harmful radiation to boot. These traits combine to make orange dwarfs the statistical favourite among scientists searching for Earth-like planets.
