Beautiful picture.

What class is the Kelvin going to be? Memory Alpha seems to be divided between her being a Kelvin class or a Einstein class.

Also, with the fact that you're going to need to build refueling and resupply stations mean that a player could mount hit and run raids on infrastructure to buy enough time to build your own forces?

Last question, of all the ships that the team is working on at the moment, what are some team favorites?

Sorry if I'm being too nosy.

We refer to it as the Kelvin-class, also my personal favorite has been the Marklin-class but I cant speak for the rest of the team :)

Thanks. I'm a big fan of the Ares and Yorktown myself.

My personal favourite is the Geronimo but I honestly couldn't tell you why - it's a weird looking ship. For the Klingons I think the D-6 is the best design since the Vor'cha, but I've also got a soft spot for the Hunter, seen in this screenshot. For the Romulans it's a toss-up between the Swift Wing command ship and the mighty Battlehawk.

This Romulan Bird of Prey design I'm personally really happy with so is my favourite for that reason. (link: Sketchfab.com)

I like it, too. Much more aesthetically consistent than the BoP in the actual show. She's a bit of a beast, too. Great cruiser.

I can't wait to see the TOS BoP.

Could I ask why the Kelvin and Franklin were added without alterations?

Both ships are very different to what you see in the films. The Franklin in particular was drastically changed to have an ENT/TOS aesthetic, while the Kelvin is a cross between its film appearance and a TOS look.

Is the Kelvin going to be rather large (almost twice or more the size of the Constitution Class)?

No. It has been scaled down to appropriate proprotions for the era. The Constitution-class is the largest, most advanced Federation starship of its time.

Size isn't everything.

Nothing in canon ever said the connie was the biggest.

Ah, a fine looking ship. It was a bit stupid to make it bigger then the Connie in the JJ Treks. Nice to see it scaled down!

Description

USS Ataturk tracks down a Klingon raiding party operating out of a Class 2 nebula.

Thrown unexpectedly on the defensive, the Klingons struggled to maintain their positions. It wasn't long, however, before the Imperial fleet regrouped and engaged the Federation more furiously than ever before. The defeat at Axanar was humiliating, and the fact that they had lost ground all along the line simply served to rub salt in the Klingons' wounded pride.

Fury, however, proved not to be enough to turn the tide once more in the Empire's favour. The Imperial fleet had lost the technological advantage that had allowed them to dominate the Federation in battle for the last two years, and Starfleet had also spent that time perfecting their battle tactics, as well as their equipment. In many ways Starfleet was now a match for the Imperial fleet, and the Federation's vast resources and political unity provided many additional benefits to their war effort.

In the wake of the Battle of Axanar, the war finally started going well for the Federation. Three star systems were retaken within a month after the battle, giving Starfleet some much needed breathing room. However, as the saying goes, the Federation wasn't out of the woods yet. The Klingons still controlled a vast portion of Federation space and made Starfleet pay dearly in every engagement. There was still a long way to go and much to endure before the end was in sight.

The Federation was finally ready to meet the challenge. Starfleet's shipyards worked ceaselessly building more ships, and Starfleet recruitment centres across the Federation faced long lines of volunteers. For the first time in two years hope for victory and the return of peace prevailed, within the ranks of Starfleet and beyond.
