Ladies and gentlemen, I'm happy to introduce Ad Mari a Mare mod to you. It is set in late medieval period and it's map covers lands from Southern Scandinavia in the north to central Balkans and Italy on the south, and from western Germany to the west to western Russia and Black Sea steppes to the east. Before we will move on to the details, let me tell you how it all begun.
Ad Mari a Mare is a mod with quite a long story. It started as a polish unit pack for Teutonic addon in 2011, under the name Polish Kingdom. It was created by Aramegil and released only on polish TW site. After releasing a couple of versions it's author had to abbandon it, due to personal life affairs, at the same time he granted permission to use or develop his mod to whoever wants to. As a big fan of this project I gladly took over it, and released improved version, which of course was still focused on Poland. The biggest milestone is a day when Zyndram, author of our map, proposed his help, it opened many new possibilities to our mod, especially with factions variety. Unfortunatelly he also had to left his work after some time and I had to continue work alone. Fortunatelly after few months I found my actual teammates, thanks to them work on mod accelerated greatly.
Mod's name
Ad Mari a Mare comes from latin, and it means "From sea to sea". Why such title? It was hard to create a name that will fit to all factions or theathres of war, something that will describe overall situation in this region in this specific timeframe. AMaM match to the geography of our mod - mainland is bordering with Northern and Baltic seas on the north, Mediterran and Adriatic on the south, and Black Sea on south-east.
Mod's timeframe
AMaM was primarliy focused on struggle on reuniting Kingdom of Poland between several duchies, so it's timeframe refers to important events in medieval polish history, but as the map greatly expanded and gave opportunities to include many other theathers of war, timeframe might change in future, but only it's ending date. For now mod is starting in year 1232, when silesian duke Henryk Brodaty (Henry the Bearded) took control over Kraków, which was the capital of now divided Kingdom of Poland, and many other lands of this state. He became the first polish duke close to reunite kingdom for a long time. Ending date is year 1370, when polish King Kazimierz III Wielki (Casimir III the Great), last king from the Piast dynasty,which estabilished polish state, died heirless.

Hello there guys,
I have a little announcement. I put a lots of work into this project, and although releasing it in the form it was meant to be in is beyond my reach, not releasing it at all would be a great waste. And I become a little tired of posting here and on TWC that I have no time to work on my mod. The thing is, situation hasn't changed unfortunately, but I decided that I wll continue work on it every day, even if that would mean literally spending just a 10-15 minutes of some minor tweaking. The plan is to firstly check everything I put into this mod through all these years, and see what is working, what has to be fixed and which things I can get rid off. After that I will decide if it's playable enough to be released. With a little bit of luck, maybe some M2 fans will live up to that day ;)

I myself am working on improving the units for SSHIP (https://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?2055-Stainless-Steel-Historical-Improvement-Project-(SSHIP)) and I don't have much material for the northeast factions ... maybe you can see if SSHIP motivates you?
Creating a complete mod on your own is way too time consuming, but grafting onto a fairly complete historical mod that you can already play with is perhaps easier and rewarding?
As I promised, I was working on my mod every single day since my announcement week ago, even if it was sometimes only 15 minutes per day :) For now I'm checking units in custom battle - I want to check one faction at the time, fix all bugs and then continue to next one. So for now there's nothing special to show, these are kind of things like "silver surfers" unit, errors in edu file, missing unit cards and so on. I just wanted to share some thoughts with you. It's interesting (and funny) experience, to see some of my works after a long break. For example I created some textures 3+ years ago and I didn't really look upon them since that time. Now, with a little bit of experience more, I see that some of them are ugly as hell Some textures are blurried, the other doesn't really fit to the unit model, some other ones looks like they are made in Paint :) I would propably redo most things if I could, but lets focus on achievable matters ;)

It's in stasis I would say ;) I really would like to finish it, but I really have no time to work on it, I don't even have free time to play MTW2 anymore :/
