You're a young book writer in the year 1920. You have rented an alleged 18th-century mansion with your successful novel-selling wealth. This mansion should spark some ideas for a new novel and give you some quiet time from the boisterous noise of the city. The landlord warns you of the "spirits" and to stay clear of the basement. The novelist investigates and his psyche and/or reality breaks down around him as he begins to question if his own life is even real. What is happening?
