007 Quake II is no longer a "Quake II" mod. With the engine source released, the engine that 007 Quake II uses is very different and advanced. You won't think you're playing Quake II any more.
007 Quake II does not require Quake II to be installed, or owned, it is a completely free game for non-commercial use.

Hi everyone,
Currently the game doesn't work on Windows 10, but if you rename '007q2.exe' to 'quake2.exe' it will stop crashing (at least if you have an nvidia video card) As for single-player mode, development didn't get too far with it and I've completely forgotten how to get it to work. I might look into that soon. I think I recall that normally I would play a local MP game and spawn bots. Most of the mod work was in the MP game. Thanks for your interest :)

it doesn't work with windows 8, any tips or help??
I know how to fix the Awaiting Connection... bug edit your autoexec.cfg and add the following line
alias newgame "map sp1"
but there are many missing textures and enemies act all weird so

Doesn't work man it says 'Awaiting Connection...' so I waited a couple of minutes but nothing happens so for some reason I could press Esc or ~ and then I would just get back to the main menu so yeah fail game :(

Is that engine as poverful as the new Quake2 XP?
