As much as I'd like to speed things up, people are just simply not volunteering for positions that are crucial for us (ie. texture artists, programmers). So what we've got is a skeleton team of (mostly) busy college students with jobs.

To be honest, they wouldn't fit in the maps, lol. In terms of scale, it wouldn't work. That's not to mention the problems that would arise from animating it.
Working on some new vehicles and weapons to show you guys for a news update while we look for character modelers to help us with infantry :)
As much as I would like to deny the game's validity, TFU made this weapon canon seperate from the DLT-19. Even then, there are some significant differences in the weapons that make them believable as seperate common armaments.
Also note: Lucas and co. during the movies, made many of the weapons based off of real WW2 german MG's and that idea carried over in tradition to many future additions to canon.
I already started making the DLT-19 so I'd hate to just throw away the work. I will try to make them as unique as possible though, you can be assured of that.
It seems that the host was down for a little while. It should be up now.
Maybe so, but I'm going for high detail and the center is what "makes" the thermal detonator. I actually made a change since this render and added protrusions and made the gap bigger. Those who like to make good pics and see details up close might appreciate the attention.
The concept for the campaign is that it starts between episodes 3 and 4. This was a major transitionary period for the empire and Phase 2 troopers were beginning to be phased out. So there will be a section of the campaign where you will be able to use them. (hint: 501st)
Well, considering the size of some of these barrels, it would look awkward using a texture. Besides, had some leftover poly's to use :)
Do you mean to install it? Most likely yes.
Or if you mean to run it: You don't need a seperate exe to run to the mod, but simply a modified shortcut.
Don't worry, we're not dead. It's a rough patch for me because I'm going through preparations and such for moving onto a college campus this summer and other real-life issues. As such, I may take on a Co-Lead.
Expect some treats soon, though ;).
Single-player is on the to-do list, but after the multiplayer/skirmish components are at a 1.0 release.
Slow but I just might have some good stuff to show you guys very soon ;)
There are no ETA's and yes, you will be able to go online as long as the people you are connecting to have the same version of the mod as you.
Ah, I know no one wants to hear this (as it's been repeated many times among other mods) but, it's done when it's done. As for when it comes time for some kind of beta, sure, all the help we can get.
We are progressing slowly atm, but still progressing. We are desperately in need of texture artists and UV Mappers. That said, 0% chance of dying.
While admittedly interesting, I've got my hands full with this mod and RL already. Maybe if you introduce the idea over at the CoH forums, the floaters over there will pick up on it.
No worries. We haven't done much with infantry yet as we don't have modelers specially suited to making them yet. Hopefully that will be addressed after the update.
I guess that's why you'll always be a sad little man...
The timeline includes the period where there were still Clonetroopers in use in the Outer Rim, so yes.
@Mrwinkle2 The first one will be the Empire. Rebels later on.
@hire2for1 Ok, woah, send me an E-Mail or PM me dude. I can't just have you announcing and confirming on the comments.
There is no beta test in sight yet. If you guys wanna be beta testers, I'll be happy to oblige when we announce something of the sort. I love the excitement but man, "soon" is not a word I would throw around lightly...
Were counting on that :D, the main motivation for this project came from the void that those games left and that which Lucasarts has continually dismissed in pursuit of their new audience.
In regards to the logo: Indeed it is :). Expect units from the transitional period to the Galactic Empire. Such infantry like the Airborne Commandos all the way up to the terrorizing Dark Troopers are in discussion atm.
Zephon's preference, he edited it in his build to do specifically that. This isn't a group build of the mod.
I guess I can agree, they do look a little WoW-ish.
Those are placeholder anyway. We don't have command skills ironed out yet so they are completely subject to change.
Think of British bunkers where the dig-ins could have different roles. This one is anti-vehicle and another will be anti-infantry. So yes, but rather than replace, it will be in addition to.
Suprise! Lol, I was gonna save the new dev stuff for an update but oh well, don't worry about it.
Yeah, translations are something that is usually handled close to release.
Come back then and you can have the job.

I'm new to any official modding scene and most of my work has been privately done. Recently, though, I gained a great motivation to step up my role. Now entering college, these next few years are the best time for me to get started, even if they are slow. Hopefully I will get to know many of the fine people here as I work with and for everyone in this great modding community.
