Am I the only one who is somewhat creeped out by HK52's comments?

Kind of like the soul of a supporter who is haunting this site, hoping for an update...

Guys, I am kinda new to this mod, can someone give me a heads up on the progress of development?

Please don't misunderstand, I just wanna know how updates and news have been going until now. Because I am somewhat confused at the flood of posts and I am honestly pretty scared, having had bad experience with another Homeworld:RM mod developer who thinks the best way of dealing with upcoming game updates is to cut off the waiting community.

As in complete radio silence and no notable work done on the mod whatsoever.

Thanks a lot.

I just wanna point out that you might wanna stick to twitter. Not about to advertise or something, but twitter updates are listed on THIS page, so people are less likely to overlook them.

you're welcome.

Let's see:
1) In November/December Gearbox released an update that messed up existing mods

2) You guys pointed that out and commenced a strict policy of absolute radio silence until last tuesday.

I don't wanna be THAT guy, but if a modder does that, the first thing people would assume would be that the modder got tired of his work and abandoned the project.

So PLEASE, if you face such a situation, even if development isn't going anywhere, show us you are still here (and don't wait 6 months for doing so)

Either check in at least once a month or leave us with an announcement that you'll be away for a number of months. This is FAR better than last 6 months' radio silence

Waswaf, sorry to pop your dream, but don't get your hopes up.

Phoenix Interactive appeart to have the policy not to work on their mods until the next big update from Gearbox comes out. Expect god knows how many months of downtime until they finally decide to move a finger.

There hasn't been any word whatsoever on the mod's status since late December 2016.

Basically, Gearbox has dropped a patch in late 2016 that messed up mods. Normally, a responsible mod developer would just go and patch around said update.

But Phoenix Interactive claimed that Gearbox has announced yet another "big update" (the announcement of which of course is nowhere to be found) and they don't feel like working on the mod until the update is out.

Basically, until Gearbox releases said "big update", this mod can be considered dead.

Me neither, but all those complaints seem to be referring to two kinds of problems:

1) Various bugs in the game and the lack of activity in multiplayer

2) Mods not working since the November update. The early access of SG:SC was broken by said update too

"Sometime soon"
The only thing that we are likely to hear is "sorry, mod development is kinda on hold till new big update comes out.

That statement will be repeated for god knows how many months until the update finally comes out, despite the fact that Phoenix Interactive could have finished the mods in the meantime and would only have to do some adjustments to accomodate for future game updates.

I am afraid that any news are entirely up to their whims.

Last time there has been ANY activity from Phoenix Interactive was on November 18th, when the early access of SG:SC came out. Any attempts at contacting the devs have been met with complete silence ever since.

It is even worse than last year, when we got stood up for almost half a year just because the devs mentioned some giant update, while the announcement of said update was nowhere to be found. It was as if the mods were stood up because of an imaginary update that MIGHT be released in the future.

While said update indeed came out at some point, it was announced only shortly before it came out, not months in advance.

And now it got even worse, since Phoenix Interactive didn't even bother to give a statement on what the hold-up is. For all intents and purposes, Phoenix Interactive might have as well ditched the mods altogether and decided to have a laugh at all the fools coming here, expecting news to pop up.

Siiiigh... Aaand we're pretty much back to waiting for ages for a working mod to come out. I kind of wish PE would at least give us some word on what's going on and not just leave us hanging like that

Okay, I've gotta ask something about Mass Effect Reborn:
Will Cerberus get their own human only faction?

Well, Stargate: Space conflict is gonna have a demo in November/December.

Since Phoenix Interactive is making all 3 mods at the same time, you can assume Mass Effect Reborn has comparable progress (or not). Either way, don't get your hopes up for any playable content earlier than mid-November.

And remember, that is assuming that all 3 mods progress at the same rate. Have fun waiting and let's hope Gearbox doesn't screw it up by adding another "huge update" which makes us wait another 6 months or so

Hell, it's been about time the devs released it, guess all the waiting finally paid off.

Speaking of waiting, how fast will Mass Effect: Reborn development progress from now on, now that the biggest obstacle is finally out of the way?

Kalagan, can you pls give us some sort of update on the current status of the development process of the mods you are making?

We need some sort of specifics on how much wait we got to expect until we can get our hands on a playable version.

I am not saying this because I am impatient, but so we all can somewhat brace ourselves for the waiting period.

To put it in very simple words: Will Mass Effect Reborn for Homeworld Remastered be available before the Mass Effect Andromeda release, Yes or No?

I don't think begging "when will the mod/an update come out" will make them work any faster.

The ppl making this mod are doing this in their free time and for free. So have some respect for their hard work and learn to have some patience. We will get a new update when the guys making this mod deem it's ready to give us an update, not a minute sooner.

Well, point is probably that they are simply not done with making the mod tools.

Now they intend to toss in the mod tools afterwards. Will probably take a while, my wild guess is that it's gonna happen in the next few months

In the Codex it was said that during the reaper war, they thought of doing a "FTL Kamikaze", but it seems like the Reapers saw that coming and installed a safety device into the design which won't let you do that no matter what.

And since that function was so important to the activation of the ftl drive that they were not able to make a ftl drive which can work with something in the way.

And since the species of the "current cycle" aren't aware of the fact that they are "scheduled" to be destroyed as well, they only assume that their predecessors added that as a "safety measure" to prevent disastrous accidents/attacks, since a cargo ship crashing into a planet at ftl would make the damage of a 100 megaton nuke look cute.

The halo mod you are referring to is probably "Homefront" mod and is made by other modders.

As far as I know, the guys @ Phoenix Interactive only have Mass Effect Reborn and Stargate: Star Conflict.

But since you ask, i have heard that pretty much all the major Homeworld 2 mods, including the halo one are being made to work on HW remastered as well.

But since the devs haven't released all the mod tools, this may take a while.
