Hey ! I've just reinstalled STALKER and decided to finally give your mod a try after so many years hearing about it while playing Oblivion Lost. :)
I followed the install instructions and it runs perfectly smooth in 1080p (laptop, i5-430, AMD 5870M), however I'm experiencing weird visual glitches. On the leftmost part of screen (30-50 leftmost pixel columns) shadows just seem to stop rendering correctly, and they also change shape/brightness on other pars of the screen whenever I move my aim. What's going on ? I'll post screenshots if you need any. Thanks in advance, guys. :)

I've got a big issue and can't seem to find help anywhere. In career mode, derby trophy's last race takes place on the Yokohama drift area. The trouble is, I don't get how I'm supposed to win that one. AI cars seem to be following a path and stop at some point, but even following them I haven't managed to trigger race's end. What is one supposed to do on that one ?

Hey, dezodor!

I've got an issue, and after two big days of research on every possible obscure russian forum around the web no solution has yet come up. Since you know a lot about old builds (that's the least one could say!) maybe you could provide me with a solution...

I've recently got my hands onto build 2571 which, as you know, features the darkscape level and a partly built storyline aside from other nice stuff. I did manage to run the build fine (which wasn't easy), but it's all in russian. I've heard that it could be solved extracting the english language files from gamedata.db0 ; the trouble is no recent unpacker can handle this db version. A bunch of threads were mentioning a commandline program called "undb.exe" which was capable of doing this, but sadly this program doesn't seem to be hosted anywhere.

So, the question is, do you know another way to either switch the language of that build, or unpack gamedata.db0? Of course I'd be very happy to have a look of my own at the precious file, but just switching the language would still be great.

Build is dated from 03/15/2006, and has - I believe - been leaked quite recently.

A wide, open, derelict zone. Isn't this goal clearly achieved in those last pics? This place doesn't look like the linear playgrounds full of little kids with guns, fighting each other when scripting allows them to, we saw in the retail.

My question might look a bit useless, but did you give build 2205 a try? It contains many good features done better than in the 1935 - although at the time THQ had already started messing around - as well as hybrid levels between old and retail builds. I love the garbage particularly which is a vastly improved old-style one. Ground textures are also somewhat nicer, less saturated in green than previous builds. And, there's a huge amount of uncompiled level resources in the folders.

(PS : If you reimplement smoking in game, you should make it reduce stamina rather than health, apart from hunger.)

In that game dir (and many others for different factions) you can find sounds named psy_X.ogg and suicideX.ogg. It seems like GSC had planned to implement that feature, if npcs got themselves under psy influence they would go insane and/or suicide. Is it functional in old builds? Wouldn't it be better than just seeing them losing hp and dying? Especially with (jailbroken script enabled) controllers...

And... might you possibly implement it into LA? :)

Hello everyone :)
First, thumbs up dezodor, for all your work on Priboi Story and this very very promising mod. If it's as good as it looks like, I think it will make both the vanilla game and its mods pretty much obsolete.
I joined MDB because a few questions are still bothering me :
- Will the bloodsucker look and act like the one from older builds? I mean, reddish eyes, and starts moving slower once it's badly wounded?
- Are you gonna keep the alpha footsteps? In my opinion, the retail ones sound better, alpha footsteps are annoying me, they're fuzzy and arythmic, they sound like you've got a twisted leg. More generally, I don't like the alpha sound. Poor quality, except maybe for mutants. Even the weapon sounds are disappointing, too unrealistic, the AK74 unique wav is a pain, especially since it's almost the only weapon stalkers use in old builds.
- Well... that's quite a hard thing to ask, but... will it be stable? :D
- Is your new storyline gonna use each and every new level?

Keep up the work. You're awesome. Quite as much as GSC would have been if the paradropped THQ guy hadn't messed all the development up back in '04.
